What necklace with this dress please?

I am in a foul mood having now bought 3 dresses and not being happy with any of them. this one is the best of a bad lot.

I am wearing it with 2 pairs of black opaques in lieu of magic knickers and shoe boots.

I am all about statement jewellery and like this necklace.

The occasion is DS2's christening on Sunday.

Where are you all in my time of need. Is my dress shite?

Does it really need a necklace? Is DSs small enough not to grab and pull at it all day?

If it was me I'd shorten the sleeves to longish 3/4 length and wear a chunky bracelet.

Thank you Driven. My dress is not the exact same one as that (but give or take) and does in fact have 3/4 sleeves. I have many, many chunky bracelets but felt it needed a necklace, or possibly big earrings? I have long straight dark brown hair which is nice although the whole look is a bit boring plain.

And yes Ds will probably pull it all day.

Ah, OK! Big earrings and a chunky bracelet would be fab, it'd look better than a necklace IMVHO. More in keeping with the hint-of-80s too. Anyway, you don't want to have to spend the day feeling vaguely flustered and disorderd because of DSs necklace related activities

Maybe use the money you save on the necklace to get your hair put up by a hairdresser?

I thought the bracelet option also - the dress is quite dramatic and I think a necklace would detract from it.

Well, the dress is shown with a necklace very similar to the one yuo link to, so the stylist also thinks it works. I do too.

at two pairs of tights being weird. Obviously you are right though. I find that they give a better line than cheapo magic knickers. Spanx are a different matter but someone stole mine.

I think I will try to get to Primarni today and see what they have. Ds will still pull earrings though and that will be more problematic than the necklace.
