I can't find a floral/patterned maxi dress I like so what do you think of this alternative?

Tis plain but think it would be nice to float around in on (hopefully) hot and sunny days.......or am I sartorially blind??

I don't really like it. It looks shapeless and is grey. It doesn't shout buy me!

cookielove · 16/03/2010 21:38

i would want it to the floor with flats and i love they grey but not the dress.

What kind of colours do u like?

tulpe · 16/03/2010 21:40

yeah, ikwym, Dexter.

I just have so much stuff that is quite dressy - majority of my summer wardrobe is made up of vintage style florals. I was looking for a dress I could just sling on. It kind of reminded me of All Saints style - which I also love.....but not the prices!

Cookielove - I usually wear lots of brights in the summer - magenta, bright greens, rich reds and purples and also stacks of navy.

oh and lots of bright royal blue too - which is very flattering to my skin tone.

how about this

or this

or this

or this

tulpe · 16/03/2010 21:49

I like the first one but I can't wear synthetic fabrics at the best of times.....let alone in the summer. But something like that in cotton would be lovely

love this

love love this, but not the £

tulpe · 16/03/2010 21:59

Thanks for all those suggestions, Cookielove. I am a picky so-and-so! Not liking any of them except the pattern of the first, I'm afraid.

Am off to bed now but will pop back tomorrow to see if there are any more ideas!

Yay!

AnyFucker · 17/03/2010 21:30

100% linen

it will crease like buggery !

diddl · 18/03/2010 08:31

I like it, but I think more Spring than Summer tbh.

Could wear with purple/bright pink-but it´s linen, which I find not floaty & a bügger to iron tbh.

diddl · 18/03/2010 08:34

OP-the Rise dress is Viscose-don´t you find that hot in Summer?

Moneyspider · 18/03/2010 10:01

Do none of the maxi dresses at fever work for you?

tulpe · 18/03/2010 11:29

Diddl - yes, I realised as I was about to buy that the DP dress was viscose so I have rejected it. I think it is more spring than summer too but I am trying to be realistic about what this summer may bring in terms of weather

Was also thinking of wearing it with magenta, royal blue, bright purple and pastel pinks which would stop it looking quite so "meh".

Will check out those dresses at Fever after I've been food shopping

Thanks all
