Can't remember what it's called but Superdrug do one v similar iirc

overthemill · 15/03/2010 12:11

superdrug do their own natural high instant radiance balm which is always touted as clarins on teh cheap. i use it and love it, its around £5 i think, lasts for ages too!

Finbar · 15/03/2010 12:19

Superdrug one seconded by me too ( but I do still love the Clarins one for sheer indulgence)

janeiteisFedUp · 15/03/2010 18:24

The Superdrug one didn't do a thing for me. I now just buy the real thing but only use it a couple of times a week.

I DIDN'T use it today and one of my pupils told me I looked ill and tired.

rockmum80 · 15/03/2010 20:13

That clarins stuff just made my skin itch when I tried it! and really shiny.

Jojay · 15/03/2010 21:40

I'll give the Superdrug one a go I think. Thanks all - I knew you wouldn't let me down......

Hi I have used the Tesco one called Face Lift and it is good. The Tesco own brand stuff was created/developed by Barbara Daly. Give it a go - it is around £5.

Monadami · 16/03/2010 10:33

I always seem to get the Beauty Flash Balm as samples when I make a purchase, but don't really know what it's for. Is it a moisturiser?

overthemill · 16/03/2010 18:39

esp, was this recently? it gets great reviewsbut i've not seen it my local store

FanjolinaJolie · 16/03/2010 19:29

There is a Boots No 7 one, and they have the £5 off at the moment if you have one of the vouchers.

ElectricSoftParade · 17/03/2010 15:36

The Tesco one I last bought about 6 months ago - it lasts a while. I really hope it hasn't been discontinued as it is almost as good as the Clarins but a fraction of the price. Will check if it is still around next time I am in.

Jojay · 17/03/2010 20:46

Well I bought the Superdrug Radiance Balm. And it was half price so less than £2! Am now indecently excited about putting my make up on tomorrow!
I will give you all the benefit of my expert opinion once I've given it a rigorous trial

Well, Jojay? How is it? Thinking of getting some in town today. I normally use No7 Instant Radiance but it's epensive, even with £5 off voucher, so think I might give this a go...

overthemill · 18/03/2010 14:54

checked in at my tesco's yeterday and there one is for sale still, on the barbara daly makeup stand, on special offer so £6.98 - it is in a pot not a tube. they also do similar but with a tint. may try this one when teh superdrug one has run out

Pinkmarshmallow · 18/03/2010 15:08

I got the superdrug one today, the last tube they had left, so must be good stuff. The cashier when I paid also said "that's good stuff!" Can't wait to try it. I'll maybe use it most days and keep the No.7 one for special occassions....buy maybe this one will be better?! overthemill, did you buy the tesco one? Think it's any good? Certainly more expensive than the superdrug one....

DecorHate · 18/03/2010 19:48

I got the No7 one today - £5.50 I think with the voucher. Will give it a go later & report back. It looks a lot like a Botanics one I used to love but which has been discontinued...

FanjolinaJolie · 18/03/2010 19:50

Where in the store did you find the Superdrug one? Is it Superdrug brand or another brand?

Pinkmarshmallow · 19/03/2010 10:51

DecorHate, I thought it cost about £15 so still £10 with the money off voucher?!? Maybe I've been getting the wrong thing? Can you link to it on the Boots website, pretty please?? Ta.

FanjolinaJolie yes it's superdrug's own brand, on the skincare aisle, a creamy/greeny tube.

I've used it this morning, it smells gorgeous. Seems ok so far, altho I do prefer the No7 one I think, but this is ok for ordinary everyday use.

Pinkmarshmallow · 19/03/2010 11:01

Is this the one you're talking about, DecorHate? If so, not that cheap. But it IS good stuff!

overthemill · 19/03/2010 13:06

superdrug one is currently out of stock nline - hope it comes back soon!

this is the tesco one which I haven't bought yet. It looks fab, has little bits of shiny stuff in it, and has also had really good reviews from all sorts of press.

I will buy the tesco one when the superdrug one runs out. Would love feedback - i reckon superdrug is great everyday product though

DecorHate · 19/03/2010 13:36

Ah the one I got is different (and cheaper!)

I got

this

It is similar to the Botanics one I used to use but more shimmery than Clarins Flash Balm when you put it on first. I am not usually keen on products with built-in brushes as I find the brushes smell a bit after a while (eg Touche Eclat) but I am wearing it at the moment and it does seem to be making me look less tired than I actually am!

Lio · 19/03/2010 13:40

I'm with Monadami: what is it? How do you use it and what does it do?

Jojay · 19/03/2010 14:01

Sorry for the delay in gettting back to you.

Well I used the Superdrug one and I like it. It feels slightly lighter than Beauty Flash Balm and has a stronger, though pleasant smell. Like BFB, it makes foundation go on so much more smoothly and makes it look kind of dewey.

Not quite as nice as BFB but great for everyday and definitely better than just foundation on it's own.

It's full name is Natural High Radiance Balm. It's in a green tube and it was in the skincare aisle, with moisturisers etc, not with the make up. And it was half price when I bought it - what's not to like?

overthemill · 19/03/2010 18:10

mondami and lio (hello lio!): this a kind of skin pick me up that you can wear under moisturiser or foundation and it slightly tightens your skin and also makes it look all glowing and youthful (?). Not sure it really does all that but it is nice product taht i wear under or instead of moisturiser when i look really crappy, ie most of the time. best applied imo after you've exgoliated.

now please dont get the idea i spend huge amounts of time or money on this stuff but when i worked full time, clarins was my treat and superdrug has helped me get a fix now and agin since. also now i'm sooo old i need it i can tell you

SandylovesZsadist · 19/03/2010 19:35

I've been using the tesco one for over a year - love it.
