St tropez....or another fake tan....

Yesterday went for a spray tan as a trial for a wedding in a couple of months. Today I feel orange and patchy already. Did I do something wrong or are there some skin types that it just doesnt work for. Can anyone recommend any other products - is there anything I can do at home. My legs are the most important thing as will be v short dress.

I use St Tropez Every Day which is a gradual tanner. Much more effective than other gradual tanners and never streaky or orange.

spray tans are awful i think. I got a couple in different salons and they where all horrible dark and patchy. I looked like an idiot
I use st tropez self tan all through the year and think its brill. Its never left me patchy or orange.
If you do get it make sure you get a mitt (£3 from boots) to rub it in, it will give you a better result at the end.

I find spray tans are never as even (or long lasting) as the St Tropez ones where they exfoliate you and rub it in - costs more, takes a bit of time but result always better. Problem is, both salons I know which used to do this now just have spray booths - I think it's more profitable for them.

am liking the sound of the st tropez everyday one. what exactly will i need to buy? the spray tan one was st tropez but i had to moisturise my hands feet etc myself and no exfoliating in sight. really need to now though as going all patchy - ugh

nocluemum I use the St Tropez everyday whatsit and just bought a tube of that from Boots (£14) and a St Tropez mitt, which is basically just a towelling mitten, think that was about £3.50.

If you're after a good exfoliator, Soap & Glory do a good one and you can get a little tub in Boots for £1.50 ish.

get someone to help you though!! Ive had the fake bake salon treatment before and liked it.

I have bought the St Tropez everyday face and body but haven't used them yet as I haven't got the mitt. Has anyone tried the face one? Do you moisturise your knees before applying? And which soap and glory exfoliator? I have a few different ones.

i love clarins gel which have always found fab for arms back (dh does that) and face (do face literally every other day through the year) but legs ahve always struggled with and hence always pale and never ever wear skirts etc without tights. so i need the st tropez everyday with a mitt, and then exfoliator for before and can i use anyone or does it have to be the st tropez one, and any moisturiser or does it have to be a specific one. really cannot have this going wrong. ta all

Think ive tried every fake tan there is but always go back to St Tropez (when i can afford it) Not tried the everyday one because i cant be arsed to do it everyday...

For exfoliation just mix caster sugar, olive oil and a drop of a nice smelling essential oil, works better than commercial stuff and waaay cheaper leaving you justified in buying the St Tropez
