One stop shop for an online order of childrens' clothing?

I live outside UK and childrens' clothes are pretty expensive here.

I am visiting my Granny in Scotland in a few weeks time.

I want to order some clothing online to send to Granny's house to bring back here.

I've looked at Minimode, George Direct, La Redoute, Vertbadet and JojoMaman.

There are a couple of bits I like in each, but I was hoping to do one order at one shop for the lot.

Can you recommend anywhere else to try?

I have a 4 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy.

I need (spring or) summer clothes.

I specifically want boys long sleeved t-shirts and girls capri pants, along with a few other bits.

Pumpkin Patch

Tootsie and Fudge They are based in Newburgh, Fife.

I always want to like Pumpkin Patch and never quite do. They use very grown up colours. Although their Vintage Rose collection is sweet.

That Tootsie & Fudge site is lovely, but unfortunately it is the sort of site I could end up spending far more than I ought to. I was looking at more basic stuff, pricewise.

Oh WHY is there no Gymboree in UK?

Would you consider Boden (use a 15% discount code or £10 off £30 spend)? Free delivery, free returns. Or have a look at Debenhams maybe?

tethersend · 14/03/2010 11:00

Asos- they do a number of different brands and next day delivery.

Marks and Spencer, Next and Gap?? Was in Gap today and they had really nice Spring/Summer. They (GAP) are on ASOS

I GIVE UP.

I found everything I needed on the next website. Made a bloody great order - got called off to do nappies and baths and stuff and came back to find that the website had thoughtfully timed out and lots my entire order.

Tried again. Got distracted by children again. Lost the order again.

FFS!

Finally grabbed an hour (AN HOUR) to myself. MAde the whole order. Put it through. Spend several hours filling in pointless forms and ticking boxes to register before they will take my money and send me the clothes... and...

--> Press confirm to complete your order.

--> We are sorry there is a problem we are unable to process your order. Please phone this number.

ARRGH ARRGH ARRGH.

I am SO hacked off. What a waste of a bloody morning when I could have been playing with ds (who is now asleep).

I give up. My children will just have to be naked.

Bloody Next.

Oooh I'm vexed.

I think it may be that they don't like it when you have a non UK billing address - if thats what you tried to use? I have this problem all the time - esp when I want to order stuff to go to my sisters house in the Uk but I have a non UK billing address. Next do deliver overseas now - all the countries are listed on the bottom of the homepage. Delivery is only 5 euros so v reasonable. HTH!

vesela · 15/03/2010 08:56

I've ordered things with various combinations of UK and non-UK billing addresses and UK and non-UK delivery addresses. Thinking about it, the time I combined a non-UK billing address and a UK delivery address I did have to do the order over the phone.

You said you like Gymboree, I ordered some stuff in a sale from them once, I am in Italy and had no problem with my credit card. What with the state of the dollar it worked out ok price wise, postage from the States was reasonable for a largeish order. Plus they seem to do sales literally every 2 or 3 weeks, if you sign up they will email you.

I've often done the Boden £10 off £30 thing too and got it sent to the UK, again no problem with non UK billing address. If you split your order into £30 chunks you can reuse the code (I sometimes wait a few days between orders just to be sure but never had problems).
