DD1 (16) is getting taller by the day and suffering from stretch marks which are worrying her, has anyone got anything good to say about this product?

I am pg with DC3 and have already got a lot of scars from DC2. I started using it a while back and it really reduce the appearance of the scars, so I feel it is worth the money at the moment...not sure whether it only works whilst using it though. I bought my last bottle from Amazon as it was much cheaper than in the supermarket.

It worked for me. In fact it not only reduced stretch marks from pregnancy, but also stretch marks on my thighs that have been there since adolescence (just growing too fast like your dd, not weight gain or loss). Having said that, it didn't work on my friend. I don't know if it was because she wasn't applying it religiously like I was or because Bio Oil doesn't work on some skin types.

Either way, it's definitely worth a shot.

I used it religiously during my second pregnancy and got no new stretch marks. wish i had bloody used it the first time round.

oh btw i think it fades them a bit as well. but i dont think it could ever completely get rid of them.

topshopgirl · 10/03/2010 21:45

I have also used it during my first (and only) pregnancy and did not get stretchmarks until week 39 - annoyingly! Still using it now, 4 months later and they are definitely fading, not sure if this would have happened anyway though.

mummee09v · 10/03/2010 21:52

do you use it once or twice a day TSG? i use it once a day but dunno if it would work better if i used it twice.

as i said though, they are still ones left over from my first pregnancy, i didnt get any with my 2nd!! grrrr!! so annoying.

I've been using Bio Oil for over 5 years and can't say it helped with Stretchmarks. I used it religiously during my pregnancy, but at 17 weeks, the stretch marks came with a vengeance. I'm still using it, with little improvement, although my skin is quite supple with good elasticity.

I think if you're prone to stretch marks, you'll get them regardless of what you do, the only real method of removing them successfully is with Laser treatment.

I think Bio Oil is a good thing to use for general skin tone improvement, as have used it as a body moisturiser over the years.

However, during my pregnancy I used pure vitamin E oil (I pierced the capsules and rubbbed the oil over my tummy) I have stretchmarks on my thighs and breasts from puberty so fully expectd to get them on my tummy when I was pregnant ( particularly as I was 38 when I finally got pregnant!) but I don't have a single one.

Its an expensive thing to do but it worked for me.

Good idea, I might try that Mooncup.

It says you should apply twice a day, and to be honest, I don't always remember, so may only put it on once a day. Think it's better than not using anything although the results vary.
