I need a bit of advice on Uniqlo jeans sizing

I am about to order some on line having been inspired by the earlier thread, but it was said there to get a size down.

Sizes go by waist on the ones I want (colour skinnies) and I don't have the foggiest what to get.

They are mid rise and I'm usually 12, on their size guide this would be a 28-29 waist- so should I order a 27?! I haven't been that size for yeeeeeears and it seems a tad extreme.

Anyone? I'd really like to order them tonight.

lol
I'll reply.
Have only ordered one pair of jeans from them and can't remember the sizing.
Why don't you order two sizes and send one back?

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 07/03/2010 23:47

hehe, thanks ggirl, I feel less lonely now if no more knowledgeable.

I ordered a 28 and a 29, so I hope they aren't too generous.

Poppity - only ordered tops before so couldn't help on the sizing, sorry. Would love to order some - can you report back on the sizing when you get them?

RamblingRosa · 08/03/2010 09:31

When I bought last jeans from there I think they were in dress sizes rather than inches. I think their sizes do come up fairly big but not that big. If you're a 12 I'd hazard a guess that a 28" would be right for you.

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 08/03/2010 09:51

Hi, yes I will report back

Well they arrived today. They are a good length and colour, but the 29" fit on the legs and bum and are too big on the waist (well, hips really as they are quite low- a good couple of inches below my belly button) so they keep riding down.

The 28 is a bit better on the waist, but I can't bend my knees properly in them and all things considered, I do need to bend my knees.

To be fair, I always have this problem with jeans, it's part of the reason I have so thoroughly embraced leggings, and they do look fab on the legs.
They are a really good length, possibly not narrow enough at the bottom for super skinnies though, great colour (dark red), and seem to be good quality.
I think maybe he 28" straight legs rather than skinnies would be ok for me, wish I'd ordered them too now.
hth!

Blardy hell, how disappointing - are you ordering the straight legs?

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 10/03/2010 20:45

No, actually I ordered some bright blue ones from La Redoute here which are a better fit for me.

I do think I'm tricky with jeans though. I have what Dh affectionately calls a J-Lo bum(ie, pokey out arse)

They are really nice jeans, if you are small/flat of bottom and slender of thigh compared to the rest of you I think they would be fine, and you definitely need to go down a size.

Likey - jeans are so tricky unless you can try them on in RL. Might just have to order and see. Have the delivery times from la Redoute improved?

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 10/03/2010 21:44

True, I hate RL shopping though, unless I can go ALONE

Hmmm, La Redoute delivery depends on your courier person I guess. Ours seems to be v quick usually, although they still do that vry annoying thing of putting your order through and then telling you a week later that nne of it is in stock.
These are new in though, so should be ok. They're a great colour.

Hmm, here's a further problem: I have Uniqlo straight leg skinny jeans and found that the dark blue were a size larger than the black. So it seems sizing, as w the Top Shop Marthas, depends on the wash/colour.

PoppityMoppityandCottontail · 10/03/2010 21:49

Curse them all
