I need a treat. I have a denim mini that I love and that I think suits me. What I'd like is something in the shape of a denim mini but just above the knee and not in denim. Maybe grey cord? Maybe navy blue? Something that is still a bit casual but not as casual as a denim mini iygwim?

Am only 5'2 as well, so need to be careful re: length so it's not too long and frumpy.

Any ideas v gratefully appreciated.

I have a lovely grey cord mini from H&M if that helps?

janeiteisFedUp · 04/03/2010 19:29

Budges up to make room for Herbie. Thanks OMDB - will look in H&M. Length? I'd like to wear it for work mayhap, so I don't want it to be too short.

mistral

whitestuff

fatface

janeiteisFedUp · 04/03/2010 19:44

Thanks Money Spider. The first one is approaching what I'm after. The others are too short and too utilitarean looking for what I want. Ta for looking though.

It's the kind of skirt Jigsaw used to do very well. Like

I must admit I bought mine about 4 yrs ago

janeiteisFedUp · 04/03/2010 19:59

The Jigsaw one is deffo the right shape - but I think too short still. I would like it to be just a few inches over the knee. My denim one is shorter but I only wear that for schlepping.

have you tried topshop or new look?

Moneyspider · 04/03/2010 20:04

Is this kew one too long?

janeiteisFedUp · 04/03/2010 20:38

I like that. Kew things are usually too long for me but maybe worth a look. Depends how A-line it is too as it could be a bit too sticky-outy. Thank you - that's the closest so far to my ideal.

Have you seen this other one in Kew

janeiteisFedUp · 04/03/2010 21:16

Ooh ooh I like that one! Not that we've got a Kew. I like your name - Wedding Present by any chance?

I have bought the kind of thing I think you are after from MantaRay at Debs (purple cord Nov 09), Hawkshead (brown cord, Oct 08) and Timberland (about 4 years ago).

janeiteisFedUp · 05/03/2010 21:11

Thank you. I wouldn't have thought of Debenhams.

This one in Timberland sale cord skirt

janeiteisFedUp · 05/03/2010 23:03

Sorry but I don't like that one at all. Thanks for trying though.

hi janeite - i got two skirts like you describe in the Zara sale last month for £10. They are cut like denim skirts but are aubergine and dark grey cotton. They are about 20'' long which is a couple of inches above my knee ( i am 5'5'')

janeiteisFedUp · 05/03/2010 23:43

Ooh they sound good, especially the aubergine one. I'll have a look. Zara stuff is usually too long for me though.
