can someone talk to me about bare escentuals make up please?

i see that debenhams sell bare minerals and am conidering giving it a go....firstly is there anyone that DOESNT like it?

I have spent so much money on foundations and they never 'sit' right. Ive have tried a mineral foundation before but found i just isnt enough coverage. I have spotty skin, have broken sleep due to poorley ds's so get bad bags, have uneven skintone etc so i need something with quite a high coverage to even me out...i dont think bare minerals would do this? Sounds a bit 'light'. Anyone have awkward skin like me and tried it?? Also what is the primer like?

i didn't like it, bought it off qvc and i looked a bit metallic/shiny looking. i love the idea of it, but returned it as either i was doing something wrong in the application or it just didn't suit my skin.. hth

I use a really good serum first, and touche eclate on eye bags.

I'd recommend going for a consulation and trying it out.

When I bought mine I got it from a spa at the gym and I paid extra for a 'lesson' session as the way you apply it makes a huge difference.

I'll never use liquid foundation again.

You will probably find it really clears up your skin

Can I also recommend my secret skincare/ cleansing weapon - vichy normaderm - it is amazing. Most places that sell it will give you a decent sized free trial kit of the cleanser toner and moisturiser so you can try it out first (it last about a week)

what is that skin stuff for then? so in say debenhams where they sell the make up, would they have a bare minerals person aswell?

I love it too - it's really worth getting someone to show you how to use it properly though as it makes all the difference.

I use the primer to make it go on properly, but also use a undereye concealer and BEs bisque to cover any spots or red patches before I put the main foundation and then the mineral veil on top. You still need to 'prime the canvass' before putting on the paint with it IYSWIM.

Not sure if Debenhams would have someone to show you how to apply it, or if they'd have the full range. Selfridges have the proper counter in London - may have in their other stores as well - and I'd recommend a visit if you can get along to them. I think that the BE website lists stockists on their website as well.

It can seem expensive when you buy initially, but it lasts for ages as you use so little of it for each application.

Like TheDevilWearsPrimark I'll never go back to liquid foundation again.

I used to have awful skin - really blotchy, blackheads and I had breakouts the week before my period.

I tried so many things until I read an aricle about Vichy Normaderm.

It's expensive but you literally need a pea sized blob, it has transformed my skin.

You should be able to find out n the BE website if there are places near you that do demos.

If not I think there are video tutorials online.

I like it although I don't use it around my eyes and it does show up more lines.

I would agree that you prob need to be shown how to use it, mine came with a dvd and I did buy it from Deb's which the lady showed me how to put it on.

It's easy to put on too much though! But you do look more polished with it on. I need to buy some more soon as bought a kit at xmas.

The blushers are excellent too.

The eyeliner powder is fantastic too - I thought it wouldn't stay but it lasts all day long.

I have tried loads of expensive foundations since my teens and was sceptical about the cover I'd achieve with mineral makeup. I bought mine on-line and got demo from you tube. Its great: good coverage and speedy application. Have since bought eye shadows and bronzer. You'll need the recommended brushes..but worth the out lay! The only tip I'd give is that it can look slightly cakey if you over do it, and blending with finger tips or damp sponge is sometimes required.
