.....and I love it!

Okay, so I am ooooh, at least 20 years too old for teen clothes but I fell in love with this t-shirt. I'm a size 8 and ordered the Large. The fit is perfect. Nice and long in the body and sleeves and very neat across the shoulders. Colour is vibrant without being childishly so, iyswim. The fabric is soft with a natural rather than "skinny" fit. If you liked the Boden Parisienne tops, you will love this.

I can't wait for my red skinny jeans to arrive now.

Do you think I am having a mid-life crisis?

Then I'm having one too. I just looked at them, have not even realised I might fit into them before. I like the designs much more than the ones designed for us Most of them seem to come in S, M, or L. As a 12 what size do you think I should get [when my paycheck comes in that is]

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 10:05

Hang on just seen you're size 8 and have ordered the Large. I'm with Swarthy. And very disappointed.

Why can't they make designs like that for us?

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:05

i liek that top a lot.
am also hankering over uniqlo coloured sknnoids

I DO Like the strappy gold sandals.

at mn party i saw JOhnnie but was too slow to get over there. I then accused another man of being him in disguise.

the hsame

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:06

po
shall we bully her?

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 10:08

Slaaaag.

We pointed Johnnie in your direction SW.

I like this

It is not FAAAIIR

Bettymum · 04/03/2010 10:11

That t-shirt is lovely. 29.9 inch chest though?? That's not very large . All my pies reside in my norks.

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:12

i dont think i have ever been a size 8 ever
i think i went from age 12 to size 10

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:12

Po the top in a large is loose enough to fit a small 12 - think it would depend on the norkage. I don't think it would be overly tight. I ordered the Large because I am very long in the body and so often end up with a size 10 in the women's range to accommodate this. The fit is loose rather than clingy so I would imagine it would still be flattering - just a closer fit.

Swarthy don't be mean!!

Am now thinking of ordering one or two of the tunic tops......

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:13

you know i was onyl kidding.
you do realy?

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:14

Love that dress, Po. And I think the price is rather fab too. Would be at least £50 in the women's section, no?

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:14

Swarthy - of course I do!!

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:15

phew

Pofacedagain · 04/03/2010 10:17

yes I thought that tulpe. Bet you're going to order it now

In my twenties I used to buy age 6 boy's T-shirts to wear. I was such a slut. And flat-chested.

castille · 04/03/2010 10:20

i was going to order a couple of things for DD1 but as she is in the doghouse I might just get myself some jeans or that frock, they look v nice.

Scrawny folk can't wear laydees' boden stuff, tis designed for real women, 'parently.

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:20

I'm almost flat chested too......until I hoik em up in a balconette bra!! Then I manage a respectable 32C

I am toying with the idea of ordering that dress......But will wait for a discount code to come up. The current 15% off is mens and womens only.

I also liked the strappy tunic styles they have but I have loads of those already in my wardrobe.

They ought to do an XL for all the envious mothers...

castille · 04/03/2010 10:23

tulpe How do you manage a c-cup from nothing?! I barely scrape an A with a padded push up effort

Like the layering vest too, v nice shape.

BariatricObama · 04/03/2010 10:23

they should do an xl for all the fat teenagers!

hattyyellow · 04/03/2010 10:23

Ooh I'm glad you've posted this. I was quite tempted by the johnnie b range for me - boden clothes at actual reasonable prices. I liked their jeans and their jeggings and some of their boyfriend cardigans.

I am a smallish 12 so was wondering if I could squueeeezzzee into some of the clothes without having to fork out bodens women prices - didn't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb but if everyone else is doing it I might order some stuff too!

whatevermaycome · 04/03/2010 10:26

Could someone talk me through the sizing - am a 8/10 (depending on the shop !) so what size in Johnny B - why are the clothes so much nicer - I am 38 and I still prefer them !!!!!

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:27

Hatty! The mutton affect was my fear too. However, I do think its rather a preppy look with a few topshop-esque dresses thrown in so I think we can get away with it.

It takes some time to do, but comparing the measurements between the Large teen items and your regular Boden size is well worth it to get the right fit.

SwarthyWaiter · 04/03/2010 10:27

imagine "johnie b sizes s m and ENVIOUS!

order the envy size today

tulpe · 04/03/2010 10:30

whatever see my previous post

The large t-shirt was perfect and I have ordered both the 28L and 30L red skinny jeans - based on someone elses' comments on here about how small they came up.

Bariatric No!!! Johnnie only lets slim children/teens wear his clothes!!
