I NEED something to wear for Saturday- meal out with dh somewhere trendy. Outfit also needs to do birthday drink and meal in town the week after. (yes I have posted before but no joy and I've lost the threads)

I'm short with little legs and boobs, ok tummy and size 10ish.
I'm not super trendy/fashionable normally but want to look better than my normal sleepy mummy self.

this dress or something similar, with black opaque tights and black heels. I wore this out on the town last weekend and felt fabulous. The front isn't as scarily low cut as it looks

mrsflux · 04/03/2010 08:27

Thanks just. Does look super low cut so will have to find suitable bra too.
Is a possibility, but I'd like a few more suggestions though ;)

Black skinny jeans and a glam punky top??

Heels and funky jewellry?

I really like the skater dresses in the shops at the mo, were some nice ones in topshop, could be worn with opaques or leggings but then don't ask me I've only glanced admiringly at such items

mrsflux · 04/03/2010 15:42

aaargh!
third trip to shops in a week and still nothing!
topshop was a waste of time - nothing remotely flattering!
just i found that dress but it had gold buttons on and they always make me put it back on the rack!

have started another thread on possibly recycling what i have here

Mrs flux, you must have tried on the black one, as did I at the weekend. Not as nice as the navy one I have, which has no buttons. And try a size or two down I am a 10-12 but got the 8, which made me chuckle endlessly

mrsflux · 04/03/2010 15:59

just - there wasn't a navy one in my branch
they also had a nice navy dress with a starry pattern on hem on website but not in store either.

don't know if i can drag ds out to shops again tomorrow!

Do you have a Debenhams? I got mine from the Miss Selfridge concession in there. And have you tried H & M? They had some lovely tops in today, I got a nude coloured one with black buttons to wear with skinnies and heels this weekend

justallovertheplace · 04/03/2010 16:04

Ooo, also to save a wasted trip, if you can find their number on the internet I'm sure if you called up and asked they could locate the nearest shop that does have the things in stock

mrsflux · 04/03/2010 16:09

i wemt looking in H&M but they had nowhere i could try on with ds sleeping in buggy - they'd used disabled changing area for storage! as their shapes and sizes are a lot hit and miss i left.

will maybe take ds out to other shopping centre tomorrow if i think he can bear it. and if i can bear the frustration!

O I hate that They do that with the disabled changing room in our M and S bra department H and M sizes are very hit and miss. I nearly fainted when all the stuff I tried in a 12 today fit. I usually have to go up one or two sizes in there. Maybe they are getting the message (it's deffo not my arse shrinking)

mrsflux · 04/03/2010 16:28

just i sounds like you're shrinking if you are down sizing in H&M and miss selfridge!
