OK to take 6 month DS into hairdressers?

I desparately need a haircut but my stylist - the one I trust! - is fully booked out for the next few saturdays (when I could leave DS with his dad). The salon is small and really friendly but I'm worried about the chemicals and whether he could be harmed by them? Or am I just being overprotective?! TIA

i've taken my two several times and not even considered chemical poisoning.

not sure what that says about me.

My 7 months has been coming in with me every 6 weeks... not having my hair coloured during pregnancy is as far as I am prepared to go, I couldn't look like a scarecrow any longer! As long as the hairdresser is well ventilated I can't see that its too much of a problem.
