ARGH! Girl shoes that are not bloody pink!

I know, I know, been done many a time but there were a million threads when I searched and I'm lazy

Dd has gone and started walking all properly and is now going to cost me a fortune. I had her measured in clarks today and she is wider than her brother so there goes my hand me down plan but all they had were 2 bright pink pairs and one white. I feel white may not be the way to go for a 14 month old who lives in the countryside somehow. I looked at the clarks website and they were no better. Looked at startrite website and of the 9 pairs in her size they were all pink, red or white. Also looked at shoesforkids but there was nothing in her size.

I just want a decent pair of shoes! Preferably brown or something that will go with anything, not bloody bright pink! At least not before she gets older and has an opinion on these things.

Try robeez - also great bc sole is not rigid , meant to be best for foot development. You will need the tredz which are for outside.

Dd2 has some red ones from Clarkes. Before those she had purple ones also from Clarkes. I think thier website just shows the most popular colours. Dd2's red shoes are also available in Pink and Purple.

Dds have had boys shoes, up until now (dd1 is 3.11, dd2 2.9). Dd1 had her first pair of girls shoes a few months ago, and they were clarks, brown mary janes with a little pink flower. They do, do some not too bad non-pink girls shoes, but it is difficult to find them when they are just starting to walk. It does annoy me that little girls shoes are often white/pink and covered in sequiny flowers- as you say not the perfect footwear for crashing about having fun.

There are loads of different colours. Admittedly there is a lot of pink, but it's not all pink.

Why has it taken someone else to point out that she could just wear boys shoes? Doh!

Not in the right size shiny! Apart from the fushia ones but that is way too shiny and pink.

My dd has smashing pirate robeez. No princess shoes till she can whine for them herself!!

DS has these they are pretty unisex I think and they also come in red and navy.

these are lovely, and a perfect shoe for a new walker. DD had them for the first six months after she started walking, which was thru the winter, so the soles are hard wearing enough, but still as flexible as possible.

They are stocked it lots of places here, including John Lewis, and independent shoe shops, but the delivery charge from the US isn't too bad, so if you got, say, two pairs in consecutive sizes, it might be better to order direct.

re your DD's wide feet, my DD was (and still is ) a G fitting, and they fitted her well.

Hmm what about just buying her some boys' shoes! She won't know and if you want brown it's the best idea.

DD is 8 now so pre-school shoes are a distant memory but FWIW I never bought her pink shoes (I hate pink for stuff that has to go with everything like shoes and coats). Clarks always had at least one style in blue.

Maybe they have changed a lot?

Have had a look at website and found purple, plum (rather nice) and red, all in smallest sizes.

Have you looked at Startrite in real life rather than via the web? My DD has v wide feet, and I've always had her in Startrite precisely because they're not pink. Her very, very first pair of shoes was a navy T-bar English Classics Startrite one.

Then she discovered pink sparkles. Ah well.

she is 3.5 G. Thanks for the ideas The pediped website is very cute! Bit limited to Clarks, Clarks or online unless I traipse into Newcastle. Will probably try to get some ordered from Clarks.
