Can anyone tell me what their favourite is? I've used Mabelline, but would like a change. Am considering going a bit posh and trying something like clarins, but are there cheaper ones that are just as good?

My current favourite is the max factor minerals. Its the one that you put on with a sponge and it goes to liquid on your face.

I think it was about £12. It is the very first foundation I have had that I have actually finished.

I love it so much I am off to replace it tomorrow.

Forgot to say I have used Clinique for the last 14 or so years and much prefer the max factor one.

bobbi brown is excellent

I bought some L'oreal stuff the other week. It's (whisper) anti-ageing, but feels lovely. I have alway just used tinted moisturiser, so this was a very big step for me!

I have just starated using this and love it,

I don't use the sponge as it puts it on too thickly but when dabbed with fingers it is superb

LadyBuzz · 28/02/2010 20:54

powerofgreyskull that is the very one I have and love.

I'm a complete Clarins addict and use Instant Smooth Foundation, it's a mousse-like texture and absolutely gorgeous. Also smells lovely and lasts ages.

Bobbi brown

Clinique Repair Wear or Super Balanced.

I recently bought a tinted moisturiser from Lancome, having never used one before. I'm not a big fan of foundation as it is a bit heavy for me and the colour is never quite right. However, the tinted moisturiser is fab. I also put a bit of powder on top so I don't shine. I do find I need my usual Oil of Olay before the tinted moisturiser though. Depends on your skin, I dare say ...

Thanks everyone - will go shopping tomorrow

Clarins Instant Smooth is fab fab fab..really quick and easy to put on and it hides all the fine lines .

reallygrumpy · 28/02/2010 21:38

Lavera - German brand I get from the organic supermarket. It's paraben-free, feels light and washes off easily.

ChunkyPickle · 28/02/2010 21:39

I love Clarins (although, some products do smell a little grannyish, but not as bad as Revlon stuff) - and it lasts so well - despite wearing it almost every day a bottle still lasts a year for me. I prefer the loose powder to the compacts - again they seem to last better.

I use True Radiance.

Unusually it actually tells you to apply with fingertips (which works perfectly) and what really convinced me was seeing some photos of me wearing it - my skin looked flawless despite such a light and easy application.

GeorginaWorsley · 28/02/2010 22:04

I am currently wearing Estee Lauder double wear light and love it.
I have tried so many ,Bobbi Brown,Clinique,Revlon,Mac, etc etc,but always come back to this!

Fleecy · 28/02/2010 22:20

I have recently bought some Vitalumiere based on a friend's recommendation and it's really good. I don't have very good skin but have found this offers fairly good coverage without going cakey and settling in the lines. Skin looked nice and fresh, as if I wasn't wearing foundation.

Expensive though - DH was as it comes out of our household money!

Have tried Armani luminous silk, Chanel Vitalumiere, Laura Mercier oil free and was happy with all of them until I tried Chantecaille Future Skin. It's expensive but you use very little and it's like a skin treatment. Not sure what's in it but it does improve appearance of skin over time. Cheapest on Strawberry.Net.
