the ladies at work wear black/brown/patten opaques.

in summer, some go bare legged with a long enough skirt/dress. some wear shiny finish tights (but with closed-toe shoes)

so i think opaques are fine in an office, as are skin colour ones so long as they don't wrinkle.

Here's what you really need - nude fishnets. Honestly. Not shiny, not frumpy - make your legs look slimmer, more fabulous and a hint of tan but without that 'ice skater' look. The perfect ones are the Wolford Twenties ones, but you can get cheaper ones if you search around. The Wolford ones will last for ever though. And they don't make you sweaty in warm weather. And yes, they look professional - in fact, from a distance of about 3 feet you can't even tell that they're fishnets. They just look like smooth legs. That's why showgirls wear them

God knows what would happen at work if I wore fishnets. Think would get looks.

I don;t thing a busines suit is appropriate to wear with bare legs. I work in a very conservative environment, alwasy wear patterned and/opaque tights.

Loathe the very sheer type as they ladder as soon as you look at them, however I wear them in summer (with lighter office wear/dresses) as I think bare legs look unrpofessional frankly.

Plus I am also very pale, never use fake tan and my blue legs need tights to cover them!

nude fishnets don't look like fishnets though. They just look like sheer tights. They are de rigeur in Italy (or at least they were last time I looked, which admittedly is quite a long time ago now). I used to work at one of the most conservative firms in the City and nude fishnets were perfectly acceptable and not considered fishnets, risque or worthy of note at all.

Yes - nude fishnets are okay. Smart, not tarty and if you have them as hold ups, you can breath!

I can't see the link you have posted as am at work and it is blocked (heaven forbid I should look at tights at work.... sigh) But anyway, I have the nude colour and they are not very dark when you put them on. They should be at least 5 shades darker than the equivalent 'normal' tights shade you would pick as being nude as when you put them on they obviously don't cover all of your skin if you see what I mean. The nude ones I've got look very dark in the packet but on the legs they're very nice. I am also very very very pale with very fair hair - and they are a good colour on me. I have in the past bought nude fishnets that look 'skin colour' in the packet and they made my legs look like those of a corpse.

Bare legs is the way to go and not at all unprofessional so long as they are hair-free, moisturised and shapely, and also so long as your skirt is knee length and not mid thigh.

If your legs are unattractive then stick to trousers.

Tights in the summer is not "professional" so much as frumpy and aging imo. I am however intrigued by the nude fishnet suggestion!

Nude fishnets in summer are practical yet stylish - very European

When I was a student I had a regular summer job in John Lewis and back in those days the branch I worked at didn't have air con - so of course, no tights on hot days (they even used to put up a special sign in the staff canteen to say that the temperature had reached such a level that 'tights or stockings need not be worn in store today') I used to spend my whole LIFE shaving, moisturising and fake tanning my legs for work. If only nude fishnets had been invented back then!!!

Oh, just looked at your link now OP and the ones I've got are in the 'Honey' shade and they are nude when you put them on.
