Need shoes (and maybe accessories) to go with this dress, please!

I have no idea what kind/colour shoes to wear with this dress.... better picture for colour here

Also, what colour tights would go best?
It is quite short, but I so am I, so it is just above my knees.
I am size 10, 5' 0", and size 3.5 or 4 in shoes depending on fit. I can wear heels, but not vertiginous ones.
I do have boots, but I only have brown ones, and I'm not sure about them looking okay.

Any ideas please?

Black tights for sure! Coloured with that dress would be straying into toddler territory.

Then black boots, ballet pumps or chunky heeled mary janes or courts.

CaptainNancy · 26/02/2010 12:27

Heheh- see, I'm so glad I asked... I was going for navy...

It will look fab in summer with bare legs and pale ballet pumps/ sandals too

CaptainNancy · 26/02/2010 12:29

Yes! but bare legs in snowy feb are not good.

Well I'd wear red or navy tights with that , black too though.
Then black, blue or red boots or flats.

Or I might even do purple or green tights and match accessories.

I think I'm a colour addict rather than a style icon though, so maybe don't take my advice

tethersend · 26/02/2010 15:25

White tights.

Grey shoes.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2010 15:34

White tights!

On a grown woman!

Surely you are joking?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2010 15:42

oooh (thread hijack)

PoppityPing I nosied at your profile

I am staring a paramedical science degree in September (after the fire service rejected me - booooo!)

I am well prepared, but any advice would be most welcome.

tethersend · 26/02/2010 15:57

I do not joke.

They are tres hip, I'll have you know

PoppityPing · 26/02/2010 15:59

Are you going to Uni full time? Good on you! It's not a bad job, which service would you be in? We are well paid now imo, since the agenda for change, but as we are registered professionals now the buck stops with us far more than it did. And in some services you work with a driver who has some first aid training (although this is hopefully being phased out and the 'drivers' given further training to match what they have to do, it was a crap idea conceived by someone who has obviously never been to the average emergency incident!)
We have just started to have a few paramedic degree people filter in. They have enjoyed it, but feel a bit unprepared for actually being out on the road.

I joined a long time ago, so have no experience of the training you will do, our training was always in house.

Have you been third manning much?

PoppityPing · 26/02/2010 16:00

Oh, and tethersend, you are out there man, white tights, sweatshirt shoes, too much for me

tethersend · 26/02/2010 16:00
Grin
TheDevilWearsPrimark · 26/02/2010 16:24

No I'm going in fresh a babys bum hehe.

I was desperate for fire service, even tried laser eye surgery for it but I can't have the surgery so it's a no go.

It is full time, and after the first 6 months I understand we will start 'hands on' training.
I have no experience at all. I've worked in media / Journalism since uni so it will be a big shift.

I am doing St Johns etc and other volunteering at the moment though.

It's a big life change - nice to talk to someone who is 'living it'

CaptainNancy · 26/02/2010 19:41

sorry tethersend... those are really not me, nor are white tights tbh.

the flowers are pink rather than red (doesn't coem out v well I'm afraid)

spikemomma · 26/02/2010 19:54

grey tights is the answer.

PoppityPing · 27/02/2010 11:26

Oooh! Another colour choice! Ok, pink tights blue boots , pink necklace, and another

CaptainNancy · 27/02/2010 20:22

I like that 2nd necklace, but I think the boots are to 'shouty' ... I don't particularly want people to be staring at my feet!
