Need advice on flattering shorts (If there is such a thing!)

I don't have the most attractive legs in the world. They're quite chunky, and not a particularly nice shape, but I am slim from the hips upwards.

My waist is a size 10-12, hips size 12, but my legs are more a size 14.

So I find it really hard to find flattering shorts, as I am out of proportion.

Any help gratefully received.

3 quarters length pedal pushers or capris...

very chic with a pair of ballet pumps or with heels- you choose!

my legs are fairly short and chunky but I find shorter shorts look better on me, the longer ones which you might think would be better just make me look very butch. The most flattering ones are really quite tiny Next ones which I really hesitated to try on, try going smaller and see if it suits you.

Yikes Higgle, do you really think so? Can you find a pic?

Thanks Bethjeff; I might well try that!

shorter shorts look better on me too. Try to find some that stop at the thinnest part of your legs (not ankles ) - I have quite fat knees unfortunately, so look better in shorter ones.

Try some high waisted shorts to draw attention to your slim waist.

Seems the answer is short shorts.
My legs are a reasonable length and shape but I'm quite broad in the hip.
Anything too long just seems to emphasize the width in this area, whereas shorter ones draw the eye to the leg and, as someone has said, make them look longer.
I avoid pleated styles as well - just jeans shorts.

I had a problem finding shorts that looked OK last year and decided the way ahead is short (not too short!) skirts. Unless you need to be ultra flexible in movement, I found this a good option.

Definitely short shorts or short skirts.

Zara usually have some lovely tailored shorts which sit perfectly - they aren't of the "Abercrombie" school of short shorts, iyswim You wouldn't be embarrassed to wear them out in the evening on a summer holiday. The pairs I have are a nice mid-rise so no muffin toppage or risk of flashing your backside at passing strangers. They are also wide-ish at the leg so further enhance the illusion of perfect pins as they aren't too fitted on the thigh.

They even manage to make my short legs look positively Giselle Bundchen-like.........well maybe that's stretching the truth a bit but you get my drift!!
