I've just discovered S&G after reading about it in a magazine and think it's absolutely fantastic! So far I've just got a few bits, so was after recommendations as I was in Boots today and there was just so much to choose from! I ended up just getting some Clean On Me shower gel and a 15 minute facial peel thing.

If anyone is after a recommendation then The Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser is really good. I normally use Liz Earle but this is just as good (if not better, sorry Liz!) and it's only £6 at the minute, and it comes with a free muslin cloth like the C&P!

The Bright Here Bright Now stuff is good too for giving you a bit of a glow - much needed in my case!

Glow Job (moisturiser with little bronzer beads in it which burst when you rub it in)
Clean On Me
Solar Power (bronzer)
Dr Spot stuff
Facial peel
Body spray nice

I don't rate the spray body lotion thingummy though, a bit faffy.

JohnnyTwoHats · 24/02/2010 19:59

I often use Clean On Me as a makeshift shaving cream too, it's nice.

HellBent · 24/02/2010 20:00

I use the facial scrub

MrsMeow · 24/02/2010 20:13

Thanks both JohnnyTwoHats, do you mean the Clean on Me shower gel? I've not used it yet but if it's good enough to use as a shaving cream too, then even better!

I don't like the spray lotion either. My friend bought me some ages ago and I didn't like the feel of it. It put me off trying it again for a good year or so!

HellBent, is the scrub quite gentle? I do have some dry areas that need to be scrubbed (forehead and around nose mainly) but I find that my skin gets quite irritated by most of them...

I love The Greatest Scrub of all, Clean Mary face wash, Fab Pore hot cloth cleanser, all of the shower gels and body lotions are lovely (think I tried most of them) also the intensive foot cream.

bethjeff · 24/02/2010 22:03

Flake away face and body scrub works marvels...

Hand food is lovely and non greasy every day moisturizer (for hands obv)

JohnnyTwoHats · 24/02/2010 22:59

oh yes i forgot Hand food- how could I forget- I have it in full AND handbag size!

Yes- Clean On Me shower cream brill as shaving cream. I jealously guard my Clean On Me, move it to high shelf when i finish in shower so DD can't get up to any Shower Product Tomfoolery with it.

shivster1980 · 25/02/2010 08:33

I love Hand Food and have one of the scrubs (which I use on my face but it a body one). Clean on me is lovely too.

I love love love S&G.

MooMinCow · 25/02/2010 11:06

Sugar Crush (spa range) or Flake Away body scrubs.... give a proper scrub as opposed to other feeble body scrubs!

MrsMeow · 25/02/2010 11:38

Thanks everyone! JohnnyTwoHats - "shower product tomfoolery" really made me laugh!

I love the Flake Away scrub, £1.49 for a small pot, bargain! I used it for the first time in the shower this morning and am very impressed. It left a layer of 'something' on my skin, not sure what it was, but it definitely feels less dry than normal!

One thing I do have which I'm not over keen on is a thermal shower wash type thing. You rub it into your skin and it heats up on contact. It works well (it's also a type of scrub) but left me with a very odd mild sunburn feel!

I might try the Hand Food next. I also want to try the face serum stuff, it's supposed to be similar to No 7 P&P I think.

Thanks for the suggestions!

OOh , what is face serum called?

Shower Product Tomfoolery (SPT) rife in this house. Potions and washing the bloody swimming dog toy normally the main offenders, but there are others.

So DD has her own shower gel, not as expensive as S&G, then I don't get cross! Happy mummy.

mackerel · 25/02/2010 14:43

Who is behind the S and G range. Someone bought me the body cream and it's lovely. Trying to remember what other range they make - believe it's very nice too.

MrsMeow · 25/02/2010 16:32

Johnny, this is the face serum:

www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-Make-Yourself-Youthful-Super-Rejuvenating-Face-Serum-50 ml_846104/

It's OOS on the website though.

Mackerel, I'd be interested to know if they make anything else. I think I've finally found something that suits my stupid skin!

I went in to Boots today to buy some of the shower gel after discovering it when using my sister's shower all last week

Unfortunately, they had sold out of the big pump dispensers. Was very disappointed.

Had to console myself with spray-on moisturiser (bit worried you didn't like it Mrs Miaow) and some hand food.

Will keep looking for the shower gel.

MrsMeow · 25/02/2010 17:29

Oh no, they had lots of the shower gel in my (tiny) Boots yesterday. One of the sales assistants told me that they get new stock in on a Tuesday so it's worth popping in next week and checking again. If you struggle though, I'm quite happy to pick one up for you and post it on, although it may be cheaper for you to buy it from boots.com in that case.

I'm just being fussy about the moisturiser, I usually only use Nivea in the big white tub so when my friend bought me the spray I was like "what is this madness you're presenting me with?!" (although obviously not to her face!)

Ive noticed they do a set of 3 different sorts of spray moisturiser so might be worth you keeping an eye out for it if you like this one. I think it was only £5 something on offer.

JohnnyTwoHats · 25/02/2010 17:41

I'll tell you what I didn't like about the spray on moisturiser.

The bottle is such a weird shape that it is very unwieldy. you can't hold it and spray with one hand easily without it slipping out of your hand, making it unnecessarily faffy to apply.

JohnnyTwoHats · 25/02/2010 17:41

Oh and, in answer to teh question, i think it is a Boots own brand.

DaftApeth · 25/02/2010 17:42

That is a very kind offer Mrs Miaow.

I'm sure I'll find some soon. I shall just have to whiff until I do

Will report back on the spray-on moisturiser.

JohnnyTwoHats · 25/02/2010 17:47

Oh-i tell a lie- have just looked at their website and it would appear not. you can get them from Harvey Nicks too.

MrsMeow · 25/02/2010 19:56

Very posh, but I bet you can't use your Boots points

I've just washed my hair and used the intensive hair conditioner thingy. It felt lovely as I was rinsing it off, but now my hair is drying, it feels slightly sticky to touch I have had this before with other conditioners though so won't give up hope just yet!

The Clean on Me shower stuff is lurvely, I haven't even had to moisturise.

DaftApeth let me know if you get stuck My Dad used to call me a daft apeth when I was younger. Are you from the North West? Not sure if it's a regional thing or not...

I love Hand Food & Arch de Triomphe which is a fab under brow highlighter & brow pencil.

I think Marcia Kilgore (sp) who owns Bliss is behind Soap & Glory (along with Boots)

MrsMeow · 26/02/2010 10:44

Thanks Silvj. I did look at the Arch de Triompe. Does the highlighter look natural when it's on?

Update on the intensive hair conditioner, I'm not impressed My hair, although it doesn't look it, feels very sticky to touch and was a nightmare trying to straighten this morning. I'm not sure if I used too much or just didn't rinse it off for long enough, but I'm not impressed so far!

Will try again tonight using a tiny bit and see if it is any better.

I was given the body butter for Christmas and it smelt really gorgeous - haven't tried anything else yet but am going to ask for more in the range for my birthday.

MathsMadMummy · 26/02/2010 11:11

Absolutely LOVE the spray on moisturiser (girligo?)

It's great for me as I'm far too lazy/pushed for time to moisturise properly.

MummyTumble · 26/02/2010 11:25

The nude lip gloss is fab!
