Dull and behind the times - but skinnies or straights for fat ankles?

I have recently lost some weight and need new jeans. I'm 5ft 1in probably size 10, possibly 8, but still have fat ankles, hips tum and calves have slimmed but not ankles, I'm just not blessed with slender ones. Have to order online as can't get to shops to try any on.

So, skinnies or would straights be better?

TIA

I think straights would look better.

I too am a fellow sufferer of the cankle. Straight leg is far more flattering.

H&M do a slim leg trouser which isn't quite skinny but is closer fitting than most straight leg jeans I have tried. Bargainous £14.99 and wash & wear very well.

Also, try Top Shop Marthas. They are allegedly straight legs but they look skinny on me

My final suggestion would be Boden's straight leg jeans. Lovely fit - a decent rise so no builders' bum issues either.

straight
skinnies will work if with chunky boots as camoflage, but not otherwise

Agree with Martha - boots are our best friend However, I do wear ankle length leggings (always ruched around the ankle though) and they seem to work and be flattering.

Thanks ladies. I'm ditching bootcut which have been my friend for many years but probably skinny is a step too far for me and my cankles.
