Please help me with an outfit for a Christening!

Hi!

We've been invited to a Christening at the end of March and I have no idea what to wear!! Everything I look at seems too 'wedding-y'!! I have a limited budget of about £50/60 for the clothes, then extra for shoes/accessories.

I am early 30's, 5' 10", size 8/10, (but broad shoulders, Grrrr!). It also has to be breastfeeding friendly as I'll still be breastfeeding DS, and toddler friendly (ie not dry clean only!) as I'll be running around after my little girl!

I am open to all ideas!!

Many thanks in advance!

OVer budget, but do you like the idea of something like this?

Ladyem · 24/02/2010 13:32

Thanks for the reply!

Ooooooo, I love Phase 8! Gorgeous dress and could probably just about pull the neckline down to feed! Is just that bit too expensive, though. Hmmmmmm, wonder what I could sell in ebay to make up the extra money!!!

I'll have a look at the rest of the website as I'd forgotten about them!

OK, what about this with a big chunky belt, chunky beads and a cami underneath? Not the most exciting dress, but thinking I could wear it as a day dress afterwards...

Ooh!
Like that Ladyem

Don´t know if it needs a belt.

You´ll perhaps need a jacket/pashmina in March so could easily add colour that way also.

Like the idea of a cami-but would that make bfeeding harder?

traceybath · 24/02/2010 14:16

Wrap?

Ladyem · 24/02/2010 14:25

Diddl - Phew, was worried it might be too plain! Didn't know if a belt would look better as being so tall it sometimes looks better if I 'chop' myself up a bit IYSWIM!!!!! I'd just pull the cami down to feed as this is what I usually do, then cover myself with a pashmina to hide the boob!

Tracybath - Thanks for the link! I saw that dress earlier and love it, but my shoulders are soooo broad that I fear the stripes would make them look even bigger!!
