title says it all really - my mate's wedding party is sat and I was planning to look amazing as ex will be there - so far so normal.

Except this morning mount vesuvius has moved to my chin. The middle of my chin. And is one of those under the skin so can't be popped (sorry if TMI) hard bumpy red all around numbers.

Please help - what can I do in the next four days to minimise?!?!?!

Thank you!

toothpaste

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 23/02/2010 14:02

second the toothpaste, it's suppose to be a myth but it works for me.

aleene · 23/02/2010 14:03

Drink water and leave it alone.
Cover carefully and style it out! (Loving that phrase. )

mrsfred · 23/02/2010 14:03

Tea tree oil always works for me.

newtoitallmummy · 23/02/2010 14:10

Wow - thank you all for fast responses.

Have tied hair back and have not put make up on and am desperately trying to leave it alone.

DOn't have teatree in the house so am off to try the toothpaste.

Have you got any clay facemask? Dab that on and leave for an hour or so. Usually dries them out for me and speeds things up. Probably similar to toothpaste I guess.

Good luck!

sailorsgal · 23/02/2010 14:26

Dermalogica do an amazing product for spots. Can't remember what its called but will find out.

You could find a salon and ask if they have a sample.

SodaPopRock · 23/02/2010 14:29

DO NOT put toothpaste on it

Go and buy a proper product

thatsnotmymonkey · 23/02/2010 14:30

dont use toothpaste!! it will make it come out!
Get Clinique night time blemish gel, and put that on. It will dry it out and reduce the swelling, tehre is a day time one as well you can wear under makeup. It is the shit.

special clearing booster. Great stuff.

TracyK · 23/02/2010 16:53

Yes toothpaste will draw it out - but you have time to get it drawn out and popped by Sat.

Though sometimes the sore under the skin ones - don't come to anything and just stay a sore lump for weeks.

burts bees blemish stick works really well, it stings a bit when you put it on, but it prevents spots coming out if applied early enough.... might not help in your case if you cant get hold of it immediately

herethereandeverywhere · 23/02/2010 19:19

DON'T put anything on it that drys it out!

The one thing concealer/foundation can't hide is dry flaky skin which is what will be left when Saturday comes if you use toothpaste or any other spot treatment with astringent properties. Just keep to a really good cleansing routine and drink plenty of water. It will have gone down by then and any remaining lump/redness covered with makeup.

No picking either or you'll have a scabby lump on your chin on Saturday!

herethereandeverywhere · 23/02/2010 19:24

PS: you're also forbidden to touch it unless cleansing/moisturising. Otherwise you'll spread bacteria around and grow a crop of spots! You should also try to keep it makeup free until then.

Knock him dead on Saturday!

have a massive orgasm just before you arrive - will take your mind off it and everyone will wonder why you look so healthy and happy!

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 23/02/2010 20:48

you've got a few days.

I'd use a hot flannel to try and get it to 'come out'. And maybe invest in an interesting and diverting hat, just in case.

AshleyFanjo · 23/02/2010 20:57

Toothpaste always leaves me with a big red dry patch of skin where the spot was.

I find Body SHop Blue Corn face scrub and mask followed by sudocrem very effective.
