Never used Avon before but i got a booklet posted through, and thought i might give it a whirl.

So, come on girls, what should i purchase to beat the ugly stick away?

I've always got on well with their mascaras and lipsticks, but haven't bought anything for a while.

PinkyDink · 22/02/2010 20:10

Really like their nail varnish, every now and then they have it for £3 which is a real bargain

AuntieMaggie · 22/02/2010 20:16

Oooh loads

I love their eyeshadow quads, lipglosses, and have had good feedback on their nail polish (I've bought some but don't wear it often as my finger nails keep breaking but have just bought some yellow and orange for the summer!)

The bubblebaths smell delicious, and their perfumes are nice for everyday wear (my fav is far away)

I've also been using their revitalist range which is fab (even though I'm only early 30s and its aimed at 40's) which they do a eye system, serum, day and night cream.

I also use their hair serum stuff.

(btw I'm not obsessed with it, well maybe a little, I'm a part time 'Avon lady')

chocolatespiders · 22/02/2010 20:21

the handcream with silicone is heaven and cheap

Fleecy · 22/02/2010 20:26

Heel softening cream, dry oil body spray, Anew Clinical eye lift, Anew Clinical rejuvenate day cream.

That's pretty much my beauty routine actually for face and body moisturising!

nattnoobies · 22/02/2010 20:49

I use the far away too

AuntieMaggie · 22/02/2010 21:32

ooh just bought the heel softening cream for my feet which have been just awful with all the cold weather this year!

also bought the striped camoflage eyeshadow quad (already have tiger eye which is lovely and goldy not like the pic in the book) and skin so soft glow spray and some showergel that smells lovely and summery (aloha)

DP loves the blue mens moisturiser

Mongolia · 22/02/2010 21:35

ANew Eye lift cream, and the ANew Thermolift moisturiser. They are unbelievable. I left Clarins and Estee Lauder for them.

mumhadenough · 22/02/2010 21:39

Magix face perfector which I wear under their mineral powder foundation, both are fab!

Also their spectralash mascara is pretty great too!

miche8 · 22/02/2010 21:40

i'm an ex avon lady and i liked the bras, sun cream, foot creams, hair serum and dry oil sprays when i got them at a discounted price. Don't get to see the book now but can't say i really miss those products enough to order online and pay full price for them.

The mascaras used to sell well, but i don't wear it.

Rockbird · 22/02/2010 21:43

Glimmersticks eyebrow pencil. It's one of those twisty turny ones so no poxy sharpening. Too expensive from Avon though so I get them on ebay.

completelyshotpelvicfloor · 22/02/2010 21:59

The foundation that comes in a twist up tube is lovely. It's a black tube, the foundation is solid with a whipped bit in the middle. Cheap as chips but really really nice.

AuntieMaggie · 23/02/2010 12:35

too expensive? that glimmerstick has ben 99p in some of the recent books.

and the foot cream, hair seum and dry oil sprays have been about 2 quid.

Rockbird · 23/02/2010 12:41

Has it?????????????

Rockbird · 23/02/2010 12:43

Damn, back to £5.50. I only check their website once every six months or thereabouts as I buy five or six at a time on ebay so I look when I'm in the market for more. Must keep more of an eye on Avon then.

TakeLovingChances · 23/02/2010 14:34

Their glimmerstick eyeliner pens are fab! I have a grey one and a navy one. They're eyeliners with bits of subtle glitter in them. Really nice to apply (more like a khol than liquid) and looks good too. Can't remember the price of them, something around £5

clemette · 23/02/2010 23:04

Another fan of glimmerstick eyebrow pencil...

Tiredmumno1 · 24/02/2010 11:14

I used to love the treselle perfume from avon, and i loved the pink skin so soft range. Maybe you should become an avon lady, when you start they give you a couple of free things and you get your own book that has some bloody good deals in it just for the reps

BornToFolk · 24/02/2010 11:36

Another vote for the Glimmersticks eyeliner. Nice and soft so it goes on really easily.
