So I don't have a black handbag and I would like to get one. I have been carrying around a very dark navy one or brown one which are fine but look silly with black, and I happen to wear mostly black..
I like slouchier bags, not liking very structured things. It needs to go over my shoulder, I hate 'tote' bag things that you have to carry, so has to be long enough to go over shoulder
er and it has to be smart enough to wear to work (though I'm currently on mat leave) and casual enough to wear with my everyday clothes. Also it has to be big enough to carry quite a bit of stuff (nappies, general rubbish, purse, giant bunch of keys, occasionally a thin document file though it doesn't have to be a4-sized)
and I like really soft leather, and I am OK with a teeny tiny bit of metal on it but I don't like lots
budget- erm, I can't afford anything really (really really) but I could be swayed by the argument of it being an investment piece that I will wear and use for years and years to come, thus cost per wear will make it worthwhile
