I'm curious. Is it worth paying more?

I use Clarins because it's an established brand and I like the scent.

Elemis, same reasons as you. The after sun is minty and really cooling. It is also easy to apply and the larger sizes come in a pump action for easy application.

Piz Buin Allergy because so far it is the only one not to bring me out in a rash. I suffer with prickly heat and the Piz Buin seems to help prevent it.

BelleDameSansMerci · 21/02/2010 20:24

I use Lancaster as I tend to burn very easily and it's the only one I've ever used that keeps me from burning but still enables a tan.

I have very "celtic" skin!

bump for the evening crowd!

I was thinking of starting a similar thread. I use Lancaster too mainly because I really like the smell but I got really bad prickly heat last year and tried the Piz Buin allergy which seemed better.

Are the more expensive brands actually better?

ambre solaire because it is an established brand and is usually on a 2 for 1 deal in supermarkets

dexter73 · 22/02/2010 10:22

Soltan from Boots. It works very well and isn't too expensive.

hugebelly · 22/02/2010 13:02

I can't stand Nivea, the smell makes me wretch!

Quite like Soltan - 2 for 1 deals

Wouldn't buy an expensive brand because I don't think they're any better.

Neutrogena does amazing high factor stuff (45 and 55) that feels like nothing but for some reason only seems to be available in the U.S.

Have tried a million different sunscreens (I burn very easily) and have resorted back to good old ambre solaire. There is a clear one that goes on nicely, but I prefer the normal pump spray as I sometimes missed bits with the clear one. Have not found expensive brands any better (unless its fake tan then I prefer Clarins!!)
