Hunter wellies

I want to buy a pair of navy blue Hunter wellies. I have searched on google and there are vast price differences - from as little as £40 to as much as £60.

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem with fakes with this brand? Or is it more than likely that even the cheaper companies are selling authentic items?

In my experience there are a lot of fakes out there. I generally use: www.garden4less.co.uk/ they are normally reasonably priced and really quick delivery.

Do you know if the neoprene lined ones are worth the extra cost? Or should I just buy the regular ones and wear with welly socks?

I just bought some aubergine ones. Welly socks ( any, not the special hunter ones) see to work fine for me.

Oh...I love my neoprene lined ones. But I do get very cold feet, and tend to wear my wellies in winter only.

Don't know about Hunters (had some years ago) but neoprene lining well worth the money. I got mine (Le Chameau) from here

Be warned - they are narrow on the calf.

I had Hunters & the soles wore down really quickly.

Used to walk a dog & walked along pavements to get to the fields iyswim.

Only good if always on soft ground I would say.

I agree Hunter soles are useless, better to pay more for a "vibram" style sole like these, expensive though

I need them for walking our dog through local fields and woodland. Think I will definitely go for the neoprene lined ones as my feet are permanently cold

If they are very slippy, can you buy some kind of non-slip stick-on sole to adapt them? I don't think I will be doing much pavement walking in them anyway - don't want to blend too much with the horsey set around here

Will be measuring my calf and ordering either the regular or huntress depending on outcome

Unless it was very wet or deep snow, I found walking boots much better than wellies.

They can be narrow. Navy is what the royals wear, good choice!

I have pink ones. They are good quality and so will be with me for some time. So I rather wish I hadn't gone for barbie pink tbh! Ach well!

I have navy from gardens4less. I get really cold feet in them, think that lined would be a good investment. I quite like the narrow calf but it does mean that I can only tuck narrowish jeans in them. Don't find them slippy.

Like Diddl I also found they wore down quick. I also dont find mine that comfy tbh. I'd go for a good pair of walking boots, Hunter do them but I wouldnt know any where to look, just google them if your interested.

I saw some authentic Hunter wellies which were designed for the Royal Horticultural Society with the Gardner in mind. They are really cute with floral patterns.

Rather than pay £20 for a pair, what would I get in a pair of Hunters that I would not get in a non branded pair?

I finally went with the Hunter neoprene lined ones from Gardens4less.

They are so comfy. Not at all slippy - very good, solid sole (they may differ from the regular hunters??). Fabulously warm - I get very cold feet and have even managed to wear these without socks without getting cold (swapping from Uggs to wellies in car ).

Worth every penny imo
