Junior Boden fitting me?

mummygogo · 17/02/2010 13:50

I love a couple of tops in the childrens section of the Boden catalogue. The largest size is 13/14 years. I'm a size 8-10. Is there any chance they might fit me?

yes possibly, and they do returns if not

badgermonkey · 17/02/2010 13:55

Yes, I'm a smallish 8 and I bought the largest size cable swing cardi in the sale (think this is 13-14). If anything, it's a little big! I'm eyeing up some of the Johnni B stuff for myself actually...

Clary · 17/02/2010 13:57

I have tried this and the problem for me was that the body just want long enough, but then I am long bodies (and short legged - should've tried the trousers!).

But if you are petite in height then why not?

Clary · 17/02/2010 13:57

gah! wasn't long enough, not want, sorry.

BettyButterknife · 17/02/2010 13:59

And there's no VAT on kids' clothes. I used to do this a bit before I got so lardy

paisleyleaf · 17/02/2010 13:59

Love the idea of grown women in hotchpotch t-shirts and velour dotty trousers

(I'm only jealous - I've got a friend who can get away with buying children's boots for herself).

BariatricObama · 17/02/2010 14:00

don't get too carried away or you might end up like this

badgermonkey · 17/02/2010 15:14

Well, a bit of judicious shopping might be necessary but tbh I can't believe many 14 year olds would be seen dead in some of the mini Boden stuff anyway, so who is buying it? Plain tops, knitwear etc is fine though and cheaper to boot.

traceybath · 17/02/2010 17:06

I'm definitely going to order the white denim mini skirt and skinny jeans from the new johnnie b range - am 5ft and a small size 8 so assuming it will fit fine.

DarrellRivers · 17/02/2010 17:16

what an idea [strokes chin and wonders off to look at children's section}

blossoming · 17/02/2010 17:38

Well I for one love the white clamdiggers and the silver gladiator sandals. Sadly as a size 14 rather than age 14 and size 41 in shoes I shall have to give them a miss and be very envious of the likes of you traceybath .

MrsMotMot · 17/02/2010 18:21

can anyone do a link to the new johnnie b range? I can't find any of it, not even a preview? I used to like the odd boden thing but find it very uninspiring and a bit aging all of a sudden- and I hate the prints for some reason. I have high hopes for the teenie bopper range...

luciemule · 17/02/2010 18:31

here

lololol · 17/02/2010 18:35

I'd certainly wear mini boden or the new teen range if I was not 6ft tall, size 14 clothes and size 9 shoes!

If you can, it's a great idea.

Romanarama · 17/02/2010 18:36

I was thinking this too, though am tall. Mind you I was 5'9" at 14. The shoes go up to 39 too. I have the bronze glads in my basket at the mo!

BonjourIvressedeNoel · 18/02/2010 09:43

gah at mini people.

deepdarkwood · 18/02/2010 09:45

Have never tried clothes (too much arse now, I suspect) but have a couple of pairs of boden kids shoes. Quality hasn't been great, tbh...

luciemule · 18/02/2010 10:31

I buy Next girls shoes (39) quite often - way cheaper than the women's and way cheaper than Boden.

bellissima · 18/02/2010 11:07

I'm also an 8 and have done this before, with the more subtle tops and cardis - in fact if you look in the sales you often find that say the plain navy long cardi has gone in the largest kids' sizes - probably to small wimmin like me. Doubt my adult thighs would squeeze into the trousers though, without causing a public order offence.

fishie · 18/02/2010 11:10

i tried boys baseball boots at 39 and they were teeny. mind you i am a 41 so it was a bit of a folorn hope. sandals could be better, no need have whole foot encased.

MrsMotMot · 18/02/2010 17:03

Thanks for the link, am quite excited now... really like the flowery sundress but will have to get a tape measure out to see if I can get one! Still pretty pricey, can't think teens buying their own stuff will come here tbh...

mummygogo · 19/02/2010 19:14

Well Im going to order a couple of tops - as morningpaper says I can just return them if not. Just hoping I don't get the muffin top look if they are a bit short for my length. Actually the more I look the more I like in there.

Mind you, does it constitute Tax evasion? Perhaps I will be carted off to prison. Well if I am, I will at least be carted off looking very smart in my Vintage Print T-shirt which has surely got to constitute a pretty good defence in law
