Leather jacket from Comptoir des Cotonniers

This is really just a moan, as I don't think there is anything I can do about it. I bought a great leather jacket as an Easter present for myself last year (so have had it for less than a year). I wore it quite a lot, but not that much really, as it would have been only on weekends in spring and autumn. Anyway, I was just looking at it and noticed that in quite a few places the colour has worn away - so instead of grey, you can see a pinky colour. It's rather annoying because it cost nearly £300 and otherwise it still looks new.

Would you consider complaining?

Having bought from a shop as expensive as C des C, I definitely would! If nothing else, you'll probably get a grovelling apology. I would write a dissapointed sort of letter, but v polite, and they might send you vouchers or something

Oh no. I am worried. I bought a grey leather jacket in Comptoir des Cotonniers in Paris last week for the same kind of money. Good luck.

Thanks Hopefully. When I am near one of their stores next weekend I might just take it in and casually ask about it in a "I am rather disappointed that this happened" kind of way.

MM - I think the jackets I have seen there recently are made from a slightly different leather, so you will probably be ok. I do rather like C des C.

Feelingoptimistic, does it have stitching detail on the shoulders?

We went to London (from Dublin)for a few days for my birthday last year. I had 2 childfree hours to buy my present, so headed for Notting Hill, and in the end bought a grey fitted jacket from C de C. Totally loved it, but didn't wear it too much. I was really fed up when I noticed that the stitched panels on the shoulders faded to a totally different colour to the rest of the jacket. Of course I did nothing about it, but I'd be really interested to hear what they say, especially when you say your friend has one that faded as well!

Yes definitely - much cheaper but last summer I bought a Comptoir skirt with brown stitching for my daughter and the stitching faded on washing to nearly grey - it was only a few months but they were excellent about refunding me in full and then didn't bat an eyelid when I bought the same thing in the sale for half price.
It probably helps that my local store is small and they know me quite well but for that price I would have a go for sure!

VerityBrulee - yes, that's the one !! It's like a classic biker jacket thing, with zip an stitching on the shoulders.

Right, I am going to the store on Saturday and will report back.

sorry, just to clarify, it has no zip on the shoulders ! (just realised my post was a bit confusing...)

I would definately have taken mine back if it was a local shop, I should have rung them rather than just leave the jacket hanging in the wardrobe. I'm going to root around and see if I can find the reciept.
