5th wedding anniversary - what WOOD you ask for?

LetThemEatCake · 14/02/2010 21:37

we do the traditional gift thing for wedding anniversaries and our 5th is approaching.

Last year was boring old fruit and flowers but I got around this by telling dh that things that are attracted to fruit and flowers were also acceptable, thus scoring my beloved dragonfly necklace but "wood" has left me a bit stumped this year. Yes there are lots of things made from wood but clearly I am only interested in things of an S&B nature

Any ideas?

I got a beautiful, wooden jewelery box for our 5th anniversary, which I loved, even more so when i opened it and there was a beautiful diamond necklace inside.

I gave him a photoframe, with a picture of our beautiful daughter, who i arrived for our 4th

Tatty Devine does some lovely whimsical wooden brooches and whatnot.

I got skis but they are in a kind of woody colour and dh is getting a golf wood when he pro shop opens for the season, that's about all I could think of. More practically I'd go for a lovely wooden tea tray. None of it really SB i know

PoppityPing · 15/02/2010 00:57

Oo, oo, oo! I've got one

knew I'd find a use for these

choosyfloosy · 15/02/2010 01:00

What's S&B? [dense emoticon]

I would like a wooden salad bowl because they are lovely but always too expensive. It would give me pleasure every day.

Granny23 · 15/02/2010 01:08

I got a watch with a wooden case. DH (a joiner) claimed he made it himself, which was a downright lie but some of the wrinklies believed him. I liked it anyway. I have 3 wooden brooches which I wear on woolen things, suits, etc. I do not think sparly looks right with wool. I like my wooden things. They are very 'me'.

A yacht?

rosiejoy · 16/02/2010 18:48

a beautiful wooden jewellery box to keep the dragonfly in?

ForestFire · 17/02/2010 08:13

tbh id stop dicking about with stupid wood paper lace crap and get what you want.

BikeRunSki · 17/02/2010 20:42

I gave DH a garden bench. He forgot.

LetThemEatCake · 17/02/2010 20:45

that is a genius idea BRS, I'll look at something like that for my dh. Sorry yours forgot.

well, FF that's a valuable suggestion but what I want is something that ties in with the tradition. Anything else that I may want can be bought for other occasions throughout the year
