Have they always and I have not noticed? I have only bought a dress from there in last years summer sale but I did not see a 6 or I would have got that - the 8 is vry generous and I am usually a definate 10. I hardly wear the dress as it just feels a bit 'big'.

I was looking through the new catalogue and it definately says size 6 and up.

Has anyone tried the 6? If so, what size are you in RS (real shops etc oasis/warehouse etc) and how does the 6 fit?

boden is for people with no fashion sense who like to think they have

noddyholder · 14/02/2010 21:38

size 6 is for shoes

NoahAndTheWhale · 14/02/2010 21:40

Size 6 is for my mum (although I don't think she has ever bought from Boden).

southeast I just saw a few things that would be appropriate for my holiday - I am not particulary bothered if I look high fashion when on a family holiday in the far east.

Really? No one has tried on a size 6?

Any other suggestions for sundresses that will wash well and be modest enough to be visiting temples/monesteries?

My right nork might be a size 6...

Jewelsandgems · 15/02/2010 08:12

Yes but's that the thing flamesparrow, boden sizes are massive usually. As I said, I am a firm size 10 (even edging towards size 12 in some shops) but the bozen size 8 is not a good fit on me.....maybe I am the wrong body shape full stop for Boden?.

That and I like a fitted dress to really fit!

I wish shops would just stick to proper sizing, with size 6 being x amount waist etc. They seem to make it up as they go along.

Boden seems to go for vanity sizing so people can feel good about themselves, H&M want to drive pregnant women to anorexia...

Jewelsandgems · 15/02/2010 08:19

I totally agree flamesparrow

I think I will start new thread asking for recommdations for summer dresses and if all else fails order the boden just to see.

I suppose I could wear normal strappy dresses and a cardigan? (but in the heat I am not sure I could bear it)

And I am pashmina-phobic so that's a no

The sizing thing drives me mad! I always used to be an 8, 8 was always the smallest size. Now I'm a 10 in Primark a 12 in Topshop, 6 in Next, 6-8 in M&S 8-10 in Mango, S in H&M... No I'm not showing off its fecking annoying if you are too small to fit in the smallest size, there are never any small sizes in the sales, I can't buy bras on the high street and then when you get online where do you start??

I think that size 6 is because people who used to be a 12 are more likely to buy from a shop if they fit a 10.

Something should be done! Can we make it a MN campain please - standard sizes so we all know where we are?

pinkhousesarebest · 15/02/2010 08:55

My sister who buys a lot of Boden, says that their sizing crept up when Johnny went to America. She had to return dresses and especially tunics last summer.I think the size 6 is trying to resolve this.

purplepeony · 15/02/2010 08:58

I have bought Boden since they started. Not much and always PLAIN. However, i think their bottoms have got smaller- the size 10s are quite tight for me now. Jumpers tend to be generous and I can fit into an 8 most of the time. Dresses are usually pretty big fitting.

cyanarasamba · 15/02/2010 09:00

I thought the Size 6 was only produced so it fit the stick-thin models in the catalogue
