My skin has gone super dry and spotty.

My diet has changed as I'm on a diet, Im driking alot of water too.

I tried budget stuff (boots clear skin) got a cleanser and moisturiser but te cleanser burned me and the moisturiser just left a wierd layer on my face.

I can not afford mega bucks stuf but feel so down.

My make up isn't going on right either now it just looks flaky because of my bad skin!

look up the oil cleansing method.

SayHitIsntSo · 14/02/2010 17:27

Try l'occitane. they have stuff that's not so expensive but have done WONDERS to my (horrible) skin (and it lasts for a very long time as you only need to use just a little). I got their face water, moisturiser, peeling and facial soap- all for ~30£ (that's really not TOO bad)

After years of bad skin problems, a friend recommended Cetaphil cleanser, buy online, it is cheap, simple but really works for my skin. Great for dry/sensitive skin. Also like the oil cleansing method, but could not use that every day.

Disenchanted3 · 14/02/2010 17:32

SayHit, Im on there now but it all seems to be bath stuff and hand cream?

decleor oils are great - you put them on before any moisturiser
this is lovely
keep meaning to try this
(pssst - what's the code)

SayHitIsntSo · 14/02/2010 17:35

NO no no no- seriously, GO THERE. go to their booths etc.

this is their website:
uk.loccitane.com/FO/Home.aspx

look under skin care, and look for your skin type.

and they have tons of stuff on their website- I don't know where you're looking at, but maybe look at this (this is what I'm using- the rice series for combination skin- I used to look like a crumpled piece of paper!)

God i know the feeling. I have serious spots and redness all around my mouth, was using clearasil, but it took a layer of skin off my face i'm sure and when i saw it had bleached a flannel i thought no more.
I haven't changed my diet or anything, i'm pretty healthy, i don't drink or smoke and yet i look like a teenage dirtbag.

i went to the bodyshop a week ago and they gave me loads of samples of seaweed stuff tht i have been using twice a day, it is getting better slowly. spots easing and redness reducing.
I am going to go back next week for a free skin consultation and a free makeover!!
I have also stopped wearing make up this week, not going out too far so can cope. Hopefully my skin will be able to breath and heal up.

legalwannabe · 16/02/2010 13:59

If you're on a budget, I would use E45 cream during the day and a serum at night - Clarins/ Guerlain. Your skin will feel wonderful in the morning.

Spots could be a temporary thing if you've just changed you diet, so I wouldn't focus on them too much.

If you have dry patches around the nose, this is down to exfoliation and not dry skin - just be a bit more vigorious around there with a flannel.

Also, don't forget to keep your makeup brushes clean.

Listen to ruddy it really really works! I kid you not. My skin has never looked better since I started the oil cleansing method - give it a try it's dirt cheap
