Need a brilliant hairdresser in Herts

I'm starting chemo next month and currently I've got longish hair. I've been told that because my hair is quite thick and there's a lot of it then the best chance of stopping it from falling out is to get it cut short.

I have been going to a local salon where the experience is nice but TBH the cuts are average.

Because this is a radical style change for me and because I want to look and feel as good about it as I can considering the circumstances then I really want a lovely cut.

Can anyone suggest a really brilliant salon. I"m in the middle of Herts (Welwyn Garden City) so anywhere goes really.

Wilde About Hair in St Albans - ask for Ray - have been going to him for 12 years (he used to own the salon but sold it and now just rents a chair) Absolutely brilliant cut every time.

Thanks - do you long or short hair? I just looked on their site and most pics are of ladies with lovely long hair.

Anyone tried Sanrizz in St Albans at all?

Ignore the web site Ray isn't employed by the salon - just rents a chair these days. He used to own the salon as an independent called Sunshine, but sold it. I used to have long hair and had it cut into a bob for years - of varying lengths. I now have a softer style - shoulder length, with layers for the first time.

I have been to other salons, but always went back to Ray as nobody could provide me with such a good cut as him.

Sanrizz - have never been there. I get the impression they are not doing very well - lots of dirt cheap offers etc - but they are hidden away a bit.

I'd suggest Sue Watson at Greys either in Hitchin or St Albans. She's the owner and cuts Weds in Hitchin and other days in St Albans. She's very nice- I have been going there for years. She's been cutting hair for around 25 years +.

They have a website , i think it's www.greyshairdressing.com
