Anyone had thread vein removal?

I was pondering getting the thread veins, that appeared on my legs after my second child, removed - but know nothing of the procedure.
How effective is it?
Do they come back?
How much does it cost?
Does it hurt?
Where can you recommend to go/not to go?

I had some done at my local beauty salon. It was a tiny bit painful a bit like getting a tiny shock off one of those things they use to reduce pain from insect bites, or one of those things you user to light a gas flame ( pir).
It worked OK, but then I only has a little bit done.
I think it would be worth going for a trail ( they did a free trail where I went so you can see what it feels like)
