Olive Oil for beauty...

I wanted to share with you the wonderful body scrub I did a few nights ago. Olive oil mixed with table salt, honestly the best scrub ever! Afterwards, I also moisturized with olive too. The smell is a bit herby - well olive oil... but my skin is lovely and soft and generally looks better...

Sometimes i use olive oil as a nightime moisturiser on face, neck and decollete. Its brill.

Apart from in the kitchen, what else do you use olive oil for???

I used to do extra virgin olive oil and normal table salt but add a few drops of Neal's Yard lime essential oil and ginger essential oil to take the salady smell away (which doesn't linger any way)

I keep olive oil in a Muji bottle to shave with and have also used it as a deep conditioner and as a cleanser. Put on face, rub about and wash off several times with a hot flannel or muslin.

I also use any oil, like avocado, olive or jojoba underneath E45 cream or other proper moisturiser because I have heating on at

Forget expensive creams. They are all water and ingredients to give good 'slip' and perfume and packaging. A friend's father was a Harley St dermatologist and said basically there are only two types of creams, barriers and ones that 'inject' some water into the skin to make it feel nice. He said e45 or Nivea or were basically the sine qua non of bog standard creams and much of skin's nice feeling depends on regular application (and no sun or smoking)

I agree that olive oil is just fabulous as a cleanser & moisturiser..I'm going to try it as a scrub tonight.

I just had to retrieve my oil from my bathroom because I'm making a ratatouille, I think perhaps I need a culinary bottle too...

I've done that -- running back and forth from bathroom to kitchen with a big bottle of olive oil!
