Leading on from 'do you wear make up every day', how much of you is natural, and how much is artifice?

Me:

Naturally red hair, highlighed blonde. Is washed and blow dried every day otherwise would look like wreck of hesperus. Also conditoning treatments to counteract the effects of peroxide and hairdryer.

Eyebrows bushy caterpillars, so threaded into a nice shape. Also used to be dark but they have faded over the years, so colour them in.

Skin wouldn;t be so good if I hadn't worn sunblock for years.

Skin would also be dry as a riverbed if hadn't used creams (albeit cheap basic ones)

Legs, armpits, bikini line shaved.

Wear make up every day.

Try to eat sensibly as have natural tendency to have a pot belly and big bum. Exercise a lot to counteract this.

Would look a lot different if I hadn't helped myself a lot on the way.

Oh and mascara nearly every day.

LawrieMarlow · 24/04/2011 08:25

Hair is dyed with reddish brown stuff

shave armpits regularly

do bikini line in the summer

legs epilated in the summer

get eyebrows done about every year

various fillings and crowns in my teeth

don't wear makeup

wash hair most days

paint toenails

sometimes do fingernails

Wear contact lenses

wear three rings on my fingers and a watch

think that's about it

Just realised this is an old thread. And just found my post on it in a previous name Grin.

Pits, legs and fanjo shaved (ouch!).
Full slap - foundation, powder, eyes, blusher, lippy, lipliner, mascara - always.
Nails done, but not false.
Fake tan in summer.
Botox.
Highlights - always - not yet grey.
Teeth - home bleaching - periodically.
Exercise - mainly walking everywhere, bike in summer, gym when I can be bothered.
Watch what I eat, but not obsessive. Limited alcohol, occasional social fag.

ChocolateCoveredlissielou · 24/04/2011 10:59

dye aurburn hair brown
pluck eyebrows
shave pits and legs
use face cream but not body lotion
am anorexic, so I try not to watch what i eat and dont exercise. unless you count the miles and miles i traipse every week exercise.

Hmm ...

  • expensive hair cut and colour, shampoo, and and products.
  • pretty expensive skin care - but isn't that just maintaining your natural assets ??
  • tinted brows and lashes.
  • contacts - but often wear (trendy) glasses instead.
  • make-up (expensive), but not every day and always of the 'non- make-up' variety.
  • occasional manis and pedis.
  • expensive bra - but that's a necessity if you're as big as me.

-a few crowns on teeth.

Not a lot really ...

polyhymnia · 24/04/2011 16:08

PS Also hair removal, but it's light and sparse so can do it myself. And professinal fake tan for special occasions only. Obviously wear good face and body sun and after-sun creams.

LaDolcheRyvita · 24/04/2011 16:11

Hair mousey brown but have a few blondish highlights. Always....since I was in my early twenties. Wash it daily but don't have to "do" it (dryer it) as it falls nicely into place. Lucky girl!!

Shaved pits/nethers/legs. Brows shaped and defuzzed (weeny blond hairs but, in a certain light I resemble Dennis Healey). Mole on chin plucked (bad move) as it sprouts a dark brown twig. I KNOW, I ought to have left the thing alone.

Skin, moisturised after every shower. Use Dove gradual tan stuff to disguise cellulitic flesh. (I'm fooling myself).

Face.... serum, tinted moisturiser, under eye concealer, bronzer/blush/mascara, lippy. every day. Look like I've been dug up without it.

Without all this. I'd look utter, utter shite.

SofaQueen · 24/04/2011 16:27

I'm as natural as a regularly mowed lawn:

-hair natural, but always pulled back (don't want to deal with blowing dry and styling)
-daily showers, hair washing (oily hair), and moisterising
-make up lightly applied (brows, cheek tint, and lip gloss)
-legs and underarms shaved daily, brazilian every 4-5 weeks
-no dieting, but I am genetically programmed to be slim

winnybella · 24/04/2011 16:35

Hair natural colour- need to be cut as in tragic state still 2 y after pg
Eyebrows natural
Very rarely wear make-up- mascara and a bit of blush when going out, never wear foundation
Creams when remember so once every few days
No manicure, pedicure (just cut short)
No dieting
