Talk to me about lip gloss

I read a thread on here the other day , and someone said you should always wear mascara and lip gloss as it improves you no end. It was also said that lipstick made you look old. I have been pondering this, and have decided they were right. So, what lipgloss? Where from? Coloured gloss presumably, so what colour?

I have pale skin, red hair, wear greeny/teal framed glasses.

Thanks.

Well, I tried my rosy vaseline today. I am distinctly underwhelmed. It didn't seem to give me any colour, I still looked corpselike.

Better luck with the lipglass, hopefully!

I dont use lipstick as I have horribly dry and cracked lips for 10 months in the year, despite loads of TLC. These days I use tinted Blistex. Since I am naturally olive skinned, it really doesnt add to my lip colour, but does give a more finished look. I tried lipgloss a few years ago but it would invariably spread around my mouth, which looked really horrible. How do you get your gloss/tinted lip balm to not bleed? I saw a transparent lipliner on the Bodyshop website, which is supposed to prevent this - any idea if it's any good?

I've given the vaseline to DD. She was thrilled! But she's 10, and doesn't know any better!!

OMG! There are hundreds of mac lipglosses, however do you choose one online???

BethAndHerBrood · 12/02/2010 13:45

I got mine off ebay, so a more limited choice! And always harder to choose a colour online, I think.

TBH,most of MAC's lipglosses are very neutral although there is the odd few that are a bit more colour iykiwm.

Best try loking at them direct and try and order online if you wanted a cheaper price.
BUT be warned that although cheaper online they may not be genuine..

When I 1st started with MAC products (in particular) the eye pigments I did buy samples off ebay only to find out that they weren't genuine. Worrying esp as these are products you use on your face.

Just a warning really..imo I wuld rather pay that bit more and get something that I know is genuine and a true product. x
