Can I wear red lipstick, and if so, what shade?

Am dyed redhead - quite bright, but dark, kind of conkery, cut in a twenties bob.

Love it, but have a hankering for red lipstick, and don't know whether it will work.

Will it? If so, what shade?

LOVE red lipstick with dyed red hair, and the bob sounds completely fab. So, definitely!

I would recommend Chanel's Lune Rousse, a lovely dark bright red (was my wedding lipstick and I tried a lot of reds!). If you want something really knockout red then MACs Russian Red is good.

Oh, and NARS The Fire Below for a beautiful dark red and MACs Diva for a darker pinky red.

Yes! I would say probably something more pinky than orangey - and Lune Rousse is on the more pinky spectrum so try that. Also blot so you have the stain rather than thick lipstick effect, it will make it look more subtle. The NARS one is good for staying on your lips as a stain.

according to Heat magazine, if you have cool tones in your complexion then go for the purple red shades but if you have warm tones then go for the more orange shades of red.
