It took start to finish about 1 minute! And the result is amazing!

eerrgh
powdery old lady look imo

GypsyMoth · 08/02/2010 09:33

which products did you use??

Jewelsandgems · 08/02/2010 09:51

Not powdery at all! Just dewy and glowy.

I used a primer, foundation, then a 'warmer' and then a 'veil' all from Bare Minerals (bought mine at debenhams)

Have tried the mineral makeup you get in boots from maybelline etc and found this looked really awful on my skin.

I just cant believe how easy it is!

4 products, how do they all work or compliment one another. what sort of skin do you have, ?

pagwatch · 08/02/2010 09:59

good quality mineral make up doesn't look powdery - unless you put it on wrong.

If it looks powdery you have either bought cheap shit or have not applied it properly

bibbitybobbityhat · 08/02/2010 10:01

Four products in one minute! Good gracious you're speedy.

GypsyMoth · 08/02/2010 10:09

cant you put it all in one pot then stick it on....it would take me the minute (and more0 to open and close 4 pots!!!

broccoliandchips · 08/02/2010 10:36

I'm a convert too! Tried it before Christmas and now only use Bare Minerals stuff. I use the concealer (fantastic), a mix of two foundation powders and the mineral veil. I've found that I don't need blusher with this range too. The best thing for me is that the make up still looks great hours and hours later.

Squiz · 08/02/2010 11:34

I love it too, from being really into minimal makeup I now do a full make up every day! I actually look like I am in the land of the living

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 08/02/2010 11:36

i think it's great for people who have slightly greasy skin, it really sticks. but i have seen dry skinned people looking powdery.

I have really dry skin but I love bare minerals. Never looks powdery unless you don't buff with the brush enough. I love it and would never go back. Have used it for a couple of years now.

shopalot · 08/02/2010 11:47

You can buy it on QVC and if it is not right you can send it back. (not the cheapest place to buy it though once you know you like it)

Bobbiewickham · 08/02/2010 13:31

Didn't work for me, and I'm as greasy as a chip shop.

I like the dewy look.

I found it a bit itchy too.

Disappointing.

Jewelsandgems · 08/02/2010 17:06

jajas I did approach the women (well, I got in the queue because there was a queue on five people and I wanted to see what they were doing!) but she took my makeup off (I only had on tinted moisterisor) and then did the minerals stuff and I was very happy with results! To be honest, I was scared that I would not be able to achieve the same look but I tried it this morning and it is very easy, and my skin feels so smooth and feels like I am not wearing makeup.

A few months ago I had my foundation done my chanel lady and I hated the feel of it (although, I am sure this was application rather than product - I do really like chanel stuff)

My skin is neither greasy or dry.

But having two toddlers with me when I get ready, it is the no fuss speed that I love - all done so quickly!

I use Laura Mercier but I really don't know if it actually makes any difference.

mathanxiety · 08/02/2010 17:28

You have to use the right sort of brush to apply it properly and avoid the powdery look.

GhoulsAreLoud · 08/02/2010 17:33

Yep I agree mineral makeup is really easy to put on and looks very nice and natural.

I do use the cheap maybelline stuff, mixed to the right skin tone for me and have also used bare minerals and didn't find them hugely different.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 08/02/2010 17:34

yy fab stuff and easy to use

buff tap swirl

lovely but not for everyone, if you have dry skin it looks powdery and a bit yukky

a bit spenny, but worf it

gomez · 08/02/2010 17:41

Looked fab for about 2 weeks then my skin became patchy, dry and horrible. Not sure if primer or rever upper thing to blame. Now only use for full face occasions and have reverted to Dior tinted moisturiser for every day.

But would agree is much quicker than you imagine.
