Hi

my dn will be 21 soon and I thought she might like a bag. I've got a budget of £50 and would really like to buy her something that she would think is really cool.

I'm too old too know what a 21 year old would appreciate . Any helps, sites or suggestions gratefully received.

Has no-one got any suggestions or bags I can look at?

Hello
I'm too old too, but bumping for you and also wanted to say I thought you wanted a "coolbag" not a cool (hand) bag

Erm, it depends, what kind of girl is she? Is she a bit Gothy, feminine, practical?
Is she a mum, a student, does she work?

I'm in my 20s (wrong end though sadly) and I work with 16-18 year olds, I've seen a lot of this kind of thing around, and I happen to love it too?

lovely bag eric

Accesorise do great bags too, they are well made and last for ages, and it's a fairly cool brand.
Something like this for every day?

Hi, again it depends what kind of girl she is but Paul's Boutique bags are very popular indeed! I'm early twenties, I have a pink one and love it, and lots of my friends own bags/purses of that brand

Some are more expensive than your budget but some are round about the right price.

Harrods also do some cute little bags, if she is one for the names. I also have a couple of these and love them.

You could maybe get her a couple of different Harrods ones as they are quite a bit cheaper?

Or instead of a bag maybe get her a really cool purse? Like a juicy couture one, they are around £50 and you can buy them off Asos.com, harvey nichols and selfridges have them too.

Again, depends what kind of girl she is. Hope I've helped!

Wow, I love those little Harrods bags, the first across-the-body one is divine, and v reasonably priced. Bags are my weakness, I must have over 50...

Mercedes · 09/02/2010 00:26

Thanks for the suggestions

Eric I like the debenhams one a lot. I wonder whether the Paul bags will last or go out of fashion too soon.

In terms of what she's like she's a student, likes clothes but not too avntgarde. beyond that difficult to categorise.

this bag can be cross body and is very paractical and only £30 - i have it and love it.

not particularly decorative but more useful for that.

stressheaderic · 09/02/2010 09:33

If you do decide to go for a Debenhams one, use codes PY6P for 20% off and SHD1 for free delivery, brings the cost down a bit.

Mercedes · 09/02/2010 14:30

Thanks Eric that will help and I'll stick the difference in so she can blow it all in the pub.

Help[ I tried to order the debenhams bag but its not there. Can anyone point me in the direction of a similar bag?

Eric are you there?

Did you click on the link in my post? I just did and it took me to it, and it is in stock.
Try again!

Mercedes · 11/02/2010 23:12

I tried your link again but when I try to order it it says I can't buy it cos it does have the quantity - which I assume means sold out.
I tried looking at Debenhams website and its not on it.

Ah yes you're right. Bloody Debenhams, sometimes they're brilliant and sometimes they're utterly useless!
Can only suggest ringing the number on the page, or if there's a store near you? The nearest one to me is a hike away which is why I use their website so often. Sorry!

Mercedes · 21/02/2010 20:07

Eric

Just wanted to let you know my dn adored the bag.

I went to debenhams at the week-end and although it was not online there it was in the shop. Thanks for your help and fantastic suggestion.

I'd get her The Strasbourg by OSPREY. (As seen on johnlewis.com). Its a cross-body that comes in really soft nappa leather in a host of colours. And at £49, what's not to love?
