Chin Spots!

juneybean · 06/02/2010 13:05

I've gathered that chin spots are to do with hormones.

I'm not on the pill and I'm reluctant to do so.

Is there any other way to combat chin spots?

Don;t lean on your hands. this makes a huge difference

i saw a nutritionist about this - she said 8 glasses water a day and cut out caffiene to 1-2 a day. Better snacks so no sugar highs and lows eg have some nuts - idea is to reduce adrenal fatigue

failing that the pill does work wonders! i found the health stuff made me feel better but skin stayed the same, maybe a bit better. The pill cured spots completely as well as improving the overall texture and reducing hair loss!

johnson and johnson clean and clear

works wonders for me, and I've always had them really badly!

MadamInEdenImAdam · 06/02/2010 22:36

I've had them for years. In fact have now got spots and wrinkles which doesn't seem right OR fair

I've tried a lot of things and nothing got rid of them entirely. But I have noticed certain things make them worse - booze, smoking, late nights/ not enough sleep.

You can get lotion/cream from doctors but it's quite powerful, and seems a bit of an overkill for a few occasional spots.

Ooo thanks for the replies. I will have a look at the Johnson & Johnson.

I know the pill would probably do me the world of good but I feel a bit ... eek with messing with my hormones like that

Cutting out caffeine worked for me. Developed terrible chin spots in my mid twenties, gave up coffee when I started running and they disappeared shortly after. I realised I only started to get them when I started drinking coffee when I worked in an office after uni, and doubly bad when I was dieting and supping diet coke all day to keep me full!

Before I worked that out Dermalogica or Freederm used to help but found them really harsh on my skin, tea tree oil applied directly onto them helped too.

I'm 35 and have had chin acne all my adult life, until I discovered this

I haven't had a single spot since I started using it 3 months ago, which is a record for me. You can get it in different strengths, but it can be quite drying so I'd start with the 2.5% and see if that works before you think about trying 5% or 10%.

Ooo thanks for that, I do have quite dry skin though mew!

Would really recommend Eve Lom cleanser, it's very gentle and really keeps them at bay.
