If so, what's the quality like?

TIA.

ooh i like the look of this... no idea what the quality is like unfortunately.

PoppityPing · 07/02/2010 00:59

I have quite a bit of Nomads stuff [green comsumer emoticon] and it varies. Some of it is completely amazing with luxurious details etc, and some is DP quality really. It is quite varied in it's prices though, and it does seem to relate directly to that ime.

I have 2 of their long velvet coats, they are stunning and I get lots of comments about them, love them.

EdgarAllenSnow · 07/02/2010 09:22

the long embroidered hooded velvet coats? love that style.

i have a crewel work velvet skirt from them - v good quality, nice fit (slim waist, wide hip) which has (dreaded words) washed well...

i think their stuff in lighter fabrics wil not last so well, though.

Uttam very much in the same vein (slightly more urban, less hippy) with lots of wearable stuff...

MadameCastafiore · 07/02/2010 09:34

People Tree is much nicer and they have some lovely things in theor sale at the moment.

EdgarAllenSnow · 07/02/2010 11:49

people tree seem to 1) not be hippy wear particularly
2)like t-shirt length sleeves (on otherwise lovely dresses)

Wuxiapian · 07/02/2010 12:37

People Tree is pretty pricey... doesn't stop me scooting through the ailes with a shopping trolley, though!

I trust the quality is second-to-none, MadameCastafiore?

I have the purple long embroidered hooded velvet coat and the long velvet dark purple one without a hood with silver embroidery and sequines on it.

Probably completely irrelevant as I'm going back about 15 or 20 years...quality was always pretty bad, that seemed to be the general consensus at the time. However the clothes were fairly reasonably priced at the time and so damn cool you definitely got your moneys worth out of them before they disintegrated!
If they're still on the go now, I'd imagine they are a much bigger company than back then...so both quality and price are probably completely different now

I have a knee length coat, love it and get lots of comments, the quality is pretty good. I have a few tops and trousers, summer mainly, a skirt too - they've all been good and wash well etc. I did order one skirt which was my usual size but came up tiny, looked like a size 6 or something, so not always quite right but no probs with sending it back and getting a refund. I'm rather fond of Nomads, and like them much more than People Tree.
