Well, I never thought I'd say this about V Beckham, but

I saw a picture of her in Grazia this week wearing a simple black short dress and flats and it looked.......really nice.
Usually I think she looks as though she is wearing costume and would never describe myself as a fan, but now I want a dress like that! I will try to find a link but it was mid-thigh, black, straight, long-sleeves, slash neck. Any suggestions where I may find a replica not at $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$?

I saw it and though she looked gorgeous too. I thought it was Navy though !

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 04/02/2010 13:00

My eyesight ain't what it used to be.. if it was navy that would be even nicer, in a way. I've looked for a link but can't find one anywhere. Think I may call into the little boutique in town where they have 'that sort of thing' and see if I can get any inspiration. It was very gamine, esp with dinky little flats and thick tights.

Is this the one you are talking about

KristinaM · 04/02/2010 13:23

very nice

and it will look fab on you if you are a size 10 or under with no boobs, hips or tummy

JeremyVile · 04/02/2010 13:29

She looks great in that picture.

Bonsoir · 04/02/2010 13:53

She looks really elegant in that picture.

havoc · 04/02/2010 14:02

too true Kristina.

Romanarama · 04/02/2010 14:04

I love that dress. Am size 8 ironing board btw. Also will check back to see if anyone can find one anywhere.

notsurewhat · 04/02/2010 14:43

here you go, after a bit of searchingi found it

Cortina · 04/02/2010 15:04

Is it ok to wear navy and black now?

sweetheart · 04/02/2010 16:45

it's always been ok to wear navy and black hasn't it??? I do it all the time.....

sweetheart · 04/02/2010 16:47

cheaper alternative

LynetteScavo · 04/02/2010 16:51

I was going to start a whole thread about balck and navy...is it OK now? Holly Willoby did it last year on X Factor and I was but I did it last week for work, and it seemed OK.

Victoria is only wearing flats becuase she is suffering from bunions. (I'm not just saying this to be bitchy, BTW, 'tis true)

everylittlebeat · 04/02/2010 18:12

Do you think this is the same dress? If so, it looks much better with opaque tights and flats imo.

MaggieTaSeFuar · 04/02/2010 19:07

yeah, she looks good there. 60s chic but not in an ott way.

walkthedinosaur · 04/02/2010 19:11

I saw her in that dress too and it's the first time in my life I've looked at VB and thought I want that dress.

Might treat myself to the cheaper alternative.

SleepingLion · 04/02/2010 19:13

I loved that picture and that outfit when I saw it in Now magazine. I thought it was the prettiest and most elegant I've ever seen her look.

emkana · 04/02/2010 19:17

I don't know how anyone can wear a "dress" like that where your knickers might be on display if you make one false move. It's a long jumper IMO.

weepootle · 04/02/2010 19:20

I thought exactly the same thing- she looks great, love the dress.

TheCrackFox · 04/02/2010 19:22

She looked so much nicer in that photo. Apart from not wearing ridiculous heals she also doesn't have big stuck on boobs and an orange hue.

heQet · 04/02/2010 19:23

It's very nice, but not for anyone with a milimetre of fat anywhere! you'd look like an overstuffed sausage!

Romanarama · 04/02/2010 19:49

thank you notsurewhat - I think I might have that!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 08/02/2010 15:07

notsurewhat - thank you thank you thank you!

Have now ordered in utility blue. Now on to French Sole to spend what I've saved on the dress (and a bit more besides).

B4es tshe has looked,imo.
She looks years younger,fresher.
I like the dress but would not like me,am afraid
I have more of an hourglass shape(preen).
I do wear opaques and ballet pumps though.
No.
I am notsure re navy and black.
I wear navy patent pumps with navy opaques, black with black.Probably very modern to mix though.(sniffs)

mathanxiety · 08/02/2010 17:30

If you are shaped like a stick, a dress she wears will look good.
