High Street Yes / No game.

Since discovering S & B (and thank you for your warm welcome, it has been a wonderful discovery although I doubt my bank manager agrees), I have had a few surprises about where people do / don't shop.

So I wondered if you would cast your eye over the following list of clothing stores on my high street and tell me whether it's worth shopping in them: yes / no / other succinct reply.

Next- again, very rare to find anything decent in these days
H&M - no
Miss Selfridge - no, unless you are 12
Warehouse - no
Dorothy Perkins - no
Debenhams - no
TopShop - no
Linea @ HoF - no
Oasis - maybe, yes
Monsoon - yes

The high street these days is jolly depressing.

M&S - undies, tights and the odd t-shirt
Next - rarely, shoes are ok
H&M - not one near me
Miss Selfridge - no
Warehouse - no
Dorothy Perkins - v.occasionally
Debenhams - never, can't stand it
TopShop - no
Linea @ HoF - no HoF near me
Oasis - occasionally
Monsoon - not for ages

M&S -yes for childrenswear
Next -yes for childrenswear
H&M -yes
Miss Selfridge -no
Warehouse -yes, great for party dresses

Debenhams - Yes! Betty Jackson range lovely
TopShop - No, too small for me and too young
Linea @ HoF - too old for me
Oasis - too small and young for me
Monsoon - the place I shop the most! I own all of their jersey dresses.

Add to that Phase Eight (love it) and White Company (great), White stuff (too floofy for me)

Also John Lewis is one of the places I get lots of clothes, great range

I like Kew for knitwear, TKMaxx, and Uniqlo for basics - t-shirts etc.

Monsoon - yes, but there is a lot of mother of the bride shite there as well as some diamonds in the rough

Next - occasionally, basics, but always a bit formal/worky/weddingy
H&M - I usually forget about h&m, but the times I've been in its always been a bit jumble sale-esque
Miss Selfridge - too young? Although they have some nice bits occasionally.
Warehouse - yes
Dorothy Perkins - yup, lots
Debenhams - not really, local one a bit hit and miss
TopShop - yup

M&S - underwear and tights, and poss scarves. I hear good things about the cashmere, though.

Dorothy Perkins - yes, but selectively (much of it looks shiny and cheap, but have the odd treasure)
Debenhams - no
TopShop - yes

The shop where I buy most of my things is Zara! Ditto DH and baby DD.

Monsoon - look for special occasions

I do most shopping online so anywhere that has a good delivery and returns policy suits me!

I prefer gap, french connection, jigsaw, zara, kew for workstuff, white company, white stuff sometimes and more recently comptoir des whatever it is...

Miss Selfridge - not been in since I was 25 (ie a long time ago) when dp said I was too old for it
Warehouse - I like it for silk camisoles, silk dresses and sometimes pencil skirts
Dorothy Perkins - only for emergency cheapo beach stuff like vest tops
Debenhams - sometimes but not really since they killed Principles
TopShop - only for the dds - it drives me mad
Linea @ HoF - I have two items from there
Oasis - not recently: think it's got much worse lately
Monsoon - hardly ever but some bits in Accessorise

I get bits from Gap and French Connection. I used to like a brand called St Martins in HoF but they've stopped doing it. I dream of See By Chloe, Paul and Joe and (most of all) Vivienne Westwood.

Miss Selfridge - guffaw! although some surprises make it worthwhile if you can stand the funny looks at being over 17 ...
