Haircut - should I have it cut short?

I really don't know what to do. It's probably 6 inches below shoulder at the back, graduated layers at the front and I blitz it with the straighteners after every wash. I am thinking shoulder length bob style?

I'm 35, have heart shaped face, could do with losing a stone, desperately in need of a change and want to knock years off my age...

what shall I do - have it off or not?

Yes, chopping off your hair takes years off you IME, it'll give your confidence a boost

I grow mine long then have a radical cut, could do with one now actually, a heart shaped face suits lots of styles especially short, will frame your face nicely.

Go for it

Heart shaped face sounds lovely! I have a pudding shaped face and have to keep hair length below chin (no gamine cheekbones here!), but find that if it goes below shoulders it can drag my face down. I think shoulder length sounds a good starter to going shorter without taking any risks.

Shoulder length sounds good - if you were thinking about a pixie crop, I was going to advise that you proceeded with caution
