I need a dress to wear to my son's Christening in may. I'm 5 foot 8, size 12-14 big norks, broad shoulders, problem tummy, good legs, no hips. I don't do black, I like quite bright colours and I like prints but I have very pale skin so can't do orange.

Please help me!

thank you! The mint velvet dresses are all too drab for me.

I really like this the green monsoon one, but not sure it will suit me big norks ( 36F at the moment)

I like the trollied dolly dresses but I rited some on the other day and couldn't get the biggest size to do up becuase of my broad shoulders and big boobies...

I'm really in to vintage styles, but unfortuatel am too tall to fit in to most original vintage stuff

PoppityPing · 01/02/2010 23:34

PoppityPing · 01/02/2010 23:35

or here

and I keep linking to this All Saints one as I think it's just gorgeous

also found this James Lakeland dress the other day which is also gorgeous

PoppityPing · 01/02/2010 23:45

actually, you could look here, as lots of dresses were linked on that thread that might be what you are looking for.

I'm the same height/size and very nearly the same shape as you (although more like a 36C). Anusha has some good high-waisted dresses, although I haven't bought from them (yet). I like this. Also, apparently "The fabric gives as it?s ironed, so, if your dress feels a little small you can simply iron it where needed - across the bust, to lengthen it etc" (then when you wash it it shrinks back again).

I love the James lakeland one! A lot of the ones on the other thread are too evening for what I'm looking for. The big beautiful barbara brown dresses are fab!

When will the spring ranges start to go in the shops?

I have a very non-standard figure and find dresses a challenge. I've designed my own dress on Style Shake.

I put together a beautiful, 3/4 sleeve emerald green prom dress with petticoat (very 1950s) and, as they have 20% off at the moment, my dress is only £63. This includes the dress being cut to my measurements.

I am still trying to decide whether to order. It seems almost too good to be true!
