Here

I'm presuming it's fake, as no one has bid on it...but how can you tell?

the plastic around the handles
the quality of the leather
the inside tag looks a bit suspect
it just looks wrong

if ever in doubt check on the purseforum, lovely helpful ladies there who are passionate about Mulberry will always help identify fakes (and report them and get them taken down)

AuroraB · 31/01/2010 15:51

jeez just looked closer - it that gold embossing on the cloche? and the stitching is crappy

also google the serial number - tis known as one used by fakers

LetThemEatCake · 31/01/2010 16:17

Lynette, I am selling mine if you're interested ... dark brown though

yes - go to the purse forum - they are ace. there's a mulberry section, and then an authenticate this section. Most of the mulberries are fake, sadly. I am selling my black one on here, and just about to put it on ebay too, but I will tell everyone to authenticate it

oops - wrong message posted. I had a look and it's definitely fake. That's not darwin leather to start with, and also only fakes have that plastic around the handles.

Lulumama · 31/01/2010 17:55

re buying designer goods on ebay etc..

surely if you are going to spend £££ on a bag or whatever, you want to spend that bit more, to be assured of it being genuine, get the service from teh shop, the guarantee if it breaks you will get it repaired etc...

Lulumama · 31/01/2010 17:57

yep , fancy handbags don't have plastic covering on the handles, and usually come in a dust bag at the least

AuroraB · 31/01/2010 19:09

if you do want a printed leather bayswater (what this is) they always have them in the outlets, think they are £395. you can phone up and they'll post out to you

LynetteScavo · 31/01/2010 19:18

Thanks, I think I'll wait untill my birthday for the real thing. I plan to get DH to "acidently" drive past the outlet near bath.

How much are you selling yours Bayswater for LTEC?
Just out of curiosity!

I buy a fair bit of stuff on eBay but never bags - because it's so hard to authenticate them in some cases.

And I have heard of people taking their 'genuine' Mulberry in to be repaired, even the assistants not being able to spot it's a fake, and when it gets to Mulberry they won't do the repair because it's not one of theirs.

I've found the staff at the Bicester village outlet to be very helpful. They don't mind you dithering on the phone while they run through pretty much every bag in stock
