Any under 30s here?

Just wondering, lots of stylish and beautiful MNers on here, but anyone around under 30? What are you wearing/where do you shop etc? Anything you've got your eye on this season?

(btw not trying to offend anyone, I'm 26 and find I don't necessary fit into the White Stuff/Boden look just yet!)

hi im also 26,

i find matalan to be quite cool at the moment and also not expensive.

i also love new look.

MrsVidic · 31/01/2010 10:08

hi- i'm 26 too- I totally get the too young for boden thing. I end up looking like I should be going to an interview. I usually wear a uniform for work so I end up in my work out gear (I like adidas woman) or going out I like John Lewis or DP's.

I too could do with advice on where to go for smart/ cas day wear which works well with being a mum (I'm on maternity leave at the moment). I find Next too old also.

When I say old I mean just too mature- not offending anyone- I wish I could pull off a Boden outfit or next but I just look like I'm playing dress up.

MrsVidic · 31/01/2010 10:10

I got my coat from John Lewis- its bright red and fitted which lifts any outfit. I need some day time dresses for summer and a new pair of jeans

wukter · 31/01/2010 10:24

Have you tried Awear? I think it's just moved to the UK (Irish Co). I find the jeans great - I'm a shortarse petite. Good for daywear, nice slim fitting knits and tops and so on. Great for handbags & scarves in particular, I'm not to keen on the rest of their accessories, a bit tinny looking when it comes to the jewellery. Good prices too.

Pineapplechunks · 31/01/2010 10:32

OK, I'm not strictly under 30 but I also don't go in for Boden etc.

I like to shop in Dotty Perks, H&M, New Look, the occasional dolce and gabargain from Primarni, Red Herring(in Debenhams) and also good old ebay.

All good value and up to date.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 31/01/2010 10:38

Im 26, You can usually find me most days in Topshop, New Look, H&M, and debenhams. If my town had a Primark I'd be in there also.
I love Topshop for the accessories and the underwear. New Look for the jeans (cheap!) and basics. H&M I like for "going out to gigs" clothes!
I look in Next but do find that most things seem to "grown up" for me!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 31/01/2010 10:40

Just like to add that I still see myself as a sprite 20 year old, unfortunately the years I spent as a smoker have caught up on me slightly and ive noticed im getting crows feet.

sparkle09 · 31/01/2010 12:11

also if you want something a bit more high fashion and cheap try

www.boohoo.com//

thats where i tend to get my going out stuff.

SilverSixpence · 31/01/2010 12:52

Oh good i'm not the only one! I like All Saints (though bit on the pricey side) Warehouse, Miss Selfridge, Whistles and the discount online places like Brandalley and Secret Sales which have really good bargains!

Is it sad that I'm a mum in my mid twenties and I live in clothes from Collectif and Stop Staring ?

I am always a bit terrified that people see me in the street with my pram and think its a bit sad.

CheerfulYank · 01/02/2010 00:03

I'm 27 and am American so shop mostly at the Gap and Old Navy. And, this is a bit embarrassing to admit, but at some point there are some 14 yo size tops from Mini Boden that I plan on ordering.

MrsVidic · 01/02/2010 14:46

sparkle- love the link- so cheap yet so chic

sweetheart · 01/02/2010 15:09

I'm 28 and I spend way too much time on the style and beauty board here!

I mostly shop at new look, H&M, warehouse, miss selfridge, debenhams etc etc basically high street! I love DP's at the moment for their accessories! I also quite like ASOS for shopping on line although some of their own brand stuff can be a bit hit and miss.

I have started to venture into more top end stuff - I have quite a few fcuk bits in my wardrobe - their sales are really good.

I spend far to much of my hard earned cash on clothes and make up!

thatsnotmymonkey · 01/02/2010 15:15

FCUK, Zara, Mango, H&M but sometimes the quality is rubbish, Whistles, Diesle. Find topshop just too "on trend" and have started to give it a bit of a wide bearth.
I am 33, but have the face of a 29 y.o.

steamedtreaclesponge · 01/02/2010 15:23

I'm 27 - but I get most of my clothes from the charity shop so probably won't be much help here

On the rare occasions I do buy something new I usually stick to Gap for the basics and River Island/Zara for anything a bit more trendy. I can't stand Topshop - everything in there is hideous! I really don't suit any of the trends that have been around in the last couple of years so try and avoid shopping whenever possible as I find it depressing

sweetheart · 01/02/2010 15:28

I agree top shop seems to be for the uber young trendy and thin! I've found that I like to browse fashion mags to spot clothing I like - then search online for the designer. I often find myself looking at designer stuff I don't need and can't really afford!

Oh yeah, booyoo.com! Love it, thank you so much.

Just ordered two new dresses

Pinkmarshmallow · 01/02/2010 19:40

I'm 27. Kind of an in-between stage. I normally love Next but this season don't see much I like. Was also wondering about boden because of my age... was liking a few summer dresses there but then read the reviews and they were ALL written by 40+ customers. Eeek! Are there any under 30 Boden-wearers out there? I would like to call myself modest, don't like too much cleavage or legs on show so really struggling to find a summer dress for holidays that will suit me...any ideas?

steamedtreaclesponge · 02/02/2010 08:24

I wear Boden sometimes and I'm 27! The only bad thing I find about Boden though is that a lot of the stuff looks nicer in the catalogue than it does in real life, and it is very overpriced, IMO.

Have you tried Joules? Their stuff is a bit like a cross between Boden and Jack Wills but cheaper than both! Some of their clothes are a bit preppy for me but they do tend to have lovely summer dresses. La Redoute can also be quite good - again, it's a bit hit and miss but the catalogue is so fat I can always find a few things I like.

sweetheart · 02/02/2010 09:41

pink - I love to float around in maxi dresses in the summer which might help with your summer dress issue.

puddinmama · 03/02/2010 02:02

Hi

omg never knew of boohoo and have just ordered £130 quid worth of stuff and cant wait for it to get here, thanks to whoever put the link up
