40 next week - gulp.

What do I want for my birthday? I would like something lovely to wear (day to day stuff not occasion stuff) but don't know what - and not too expensive.

Well, something cashmere is always good, regardless of season. Or, for a silver necklace, google Alex Monroe. I have the silver dragonfly and wear it all the time.

I think no to makeup and beauty because it gets used up - for a significant birthday, I'd want something I could keep.

So I'd probably not want a dress either, unless it was a real classic. No, I think cashmere gets my vote.
