lost my curls!?

anyone else lost their curls after having a baby? My hair has always been curly ever since I shaved it off aged 14 .

I lost quite a bit of hair, but IMO within normal range after having DS 10 months ago, got it all chopped off (was mid back cut to ear length) when he was 4 or so months and ever since it's just BLAH, sort of straight with a bit of a kink in it, apart from when it's just washed.

Where have my curls gone? will they come back? I have no idea how to manage this sort of hair!

I lost my curls too but they did come back after 18 months or so. I always resented my curls but really missed them when they went as my hair felt so flat and boring!

My curls disappeared a bit after DD1 was born, not totally, but just not as bouncy as before, more wavy than curly. A good haircut helped and I have to use more products now than I did before, but they've returned somewhat. Strangely my hair seems to be curlier when it's longer, whereas I thought having it shorter would make it bounce up more......

I lost mine too... they used to be all lovely and ringlets at the back. I'm greying now too. Sigh!

dexter I too had built up a great relationship with my curls after years of resentment!

cake I also thought that shorter would mean curlier, and I have been considering cutting it again (I have just been letting it grow all blah like after the big chop) - so aagh, maybe I should let it grow and it will resume normal functioning?

hairtwiddler there appears to be some hope for us here! I've been grey for a while and now can't afford salon colour so it's box colour for me. I could deal with the grey if my lovely ringlety curls came back

I've even moved to paraben free products (naked from boots) in the hope that it was something I was doing to it rather than something it's doing itself...no difference.

My hair is curlier when it is shorter. I currently have it in a chin length (when dry) bob. When it gets longer the curls go and it just looks frizzy.

I got my curls back when I got pregnant. I had very curly hair as a youngster and then I mucked around with it and it went frizzy so I had to straighten it.
I always say when I got pregnant it was like it was re-set and went really curly again..its weird what hormones do to you isn't it?

Have you thought about having it permed?

Post baby mine went very thin and curl dropped out- took spatone iron and kelp supplement- also had bit of length cut off it - to be honest took 18 months to return to normal. My curly haired BF had the same problem- bad hair in all the baby photos!

Used AVEDA products too but to be honest think its just a time thing it will return!

Mine went a bit floppy and pathetic too after being lovely and glossy during pregnancy and then falling out in handfuls afterwards.

Am currently trying to revive curls with this method.

So far so good.

Yes ,lost mine,it was BIZARRE.they first went from my errm..lady garden! and then my head.it was virtually straight.but they grew back, with the new hair, giving me a most peculiar two-heads -of-hair-on-one-head look, with short curls and shoulder length sraight thin strands.Had to chop it off to the curl length.Happened both times.funny,in hindsight.
