Got a flyer with my Boden order. Looks like Boden are going to do a teenage range. With two boys just about to grow out of Boden sizes I'm tentatively excited.

Am I going to be disappointed? Anyone seen any previews?

I haven't seen any pictures, but here's a story about it, not particularly detailed though.

JackieNo · 30/01/2010 09:53

It's not going to have the covetability of Abercrombie & Fitch or Jack Wills for your average teenager though, is it.

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 09:54

True, but my kids aren't teenagers, just giants, so it might bridge the gap a bit...

Yes, DD will be there soon - just turned 10, so I have great hopes for it for a few years yet .

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 10:02

Let's just hope he doesn't get it massively wrong, like most of this season's collection

My dd is just about to turn 13 and I cannot imagine her wanting to be seen dead in anything from Boden - soooo uncool!

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 10:36

Mine are a bit clueless

A quick low down on the new johnny B range. When it is launched, take my advice order quickly and early because as Boden is doing this for its first time and as you ladies are well aware Boden has been quite 'cautious' on the amount of items they have made (take last year for example, things selling out too quickly and could of sold more stock if we had it) now expect the same for this new range, the johnny B range was on quite a small budget in comparison to the rest of the catalogues so Boden have been cautious going into this 'new' range. (for those of you who don't know me, no im not Johnny Boden)

MaineGirl · 30/01/2010 13:15

ooh wonder what they will have for my soon 2 be 13 yr old. he refuses to wear normal boden stuff and insists on wearing sports wear but i cna tempt him into nice clothing if it looks good, dark jeans, abercrombie or jack wills hoody etc

MillyR · 30/01/2010 13:43

Is it possible to buy Abercrombie for children online in Britain?

onlyjoinedforoffers · 30/01/2010 13:51

Bodenboy i am glad i read your post all the way through i really though you were the man himself there >heart stops thudding

JackieNo · 30/01/2010 16:53

Ooh, a reply direct(ish) from the horse's mouth, so to speak. I've got a few years for them to finesse the collection and the stock levels before DD'll be needing it, luckily .

Johnnie B Sneak peek photos

Not really my taste though

Cadelaide · 30/01/2010 19:28

Johnny pays BB to say all that stuff to push sales.

Bobbiewickham · 30/01/2010 19:37

All the boys are nekkid.

Looks like a Skins trailer.

Boden Boy, I would have bought from that range if you hadn´t posted. As marketing strategies go, that one is pretty bad and it offends customer´s intelligence.

morningpaper · 30/01/2010 20:22

that's just photos of naked teenage boys

I was looking at the Boden website earlier and thinking "Has any men ever made a pass at a women wearing Boden?"

crankytwanky · 30/01/2010 20:23

So PJs & jogging bottoms for the boys then.

kittya · 30/01/2010 23:24

This has been a long time coming. I will look tentatively at the girls stuff. I hope it is going to start at aged 8 or 9.

kittya · 30/01/2010 23:26

the girls stuff is just as I expected. The same as the very lovely stuff for 4 year olds but in bigger sizes, hardly fashion.

bellissima · 31/01/2010 11:56

Agree kittya. There's certainly a market out there but not sure JB will fill it with those shorts! I reckon you have to be able to channel some of the nicer stuff my 17 year old god-daughter buys in Top Shop, make up in slightly more durable fabrics and adjust the styling just enough that mothers of 12 year olds won't say no way. A rather tough challenge. Pricing also difficult - whilst 80% of the stuff in Hennes is cheap in every sense of the word some of it is remarkably good value, especially when one is used to Mini-Boden prices.

kittya · 31/01/2010 15:26

Some of the bits from H and M are very great for mixing and matching for older girls, without making them look tarty. This range just looks classic in that it is either going to be for teens that want to dress like their mothers or just the toddler clothes in larger sizes. I guess it just screams Boden and if this is a peak of whats to come, its way off the mark for that age group. Its very Marthas Vineyard (not that Ive ever been there!!) when it should be more Brighton Rocks if that makes sense (it does to me!!) not very funky at all.
