The Boden Urban Mac was a strong contender I think - mine is much admired. Though the hood would probably not stay up in strong winds

I have it in black. Feels nice (microfibre) and looks .... efficient, really. It has a hood, and does keep the rain out. There is an interior cinch for pulling in the waist that adds a bit of shape.
